So, I read McMurray's official statement about his deal, he mentions that he remains 1oo% dedicated to the 42 team and their quest for the Cup. That got me to thinking...
After looking at his record since he took over for Sterling in 02, he hasn't been all that impressive. Now, I know, he's a lot better than most out there, but he hasn't really proven himself to be anything like Mark Martin, and let's face it, all of Roush's drivers have that ability.
Suppose the deal is signed, but the numbers (read: money$$$) isn't settled until he shows what he can do over the rest of this year and the next. Its kind of like a performance based initiative, but Ganassi gets to foot the bill. Pretty sweet deal for Roush, not a great deal for Ganassi, pretty good deal for McMurray. What do you guys think?
