Said to drive the MB2 Motorsports No. 36 Chevrolet at California Speedway:
CENTRIX Financial, LLC, the Official Auto Finance Company of NASCAR,
announced it will be making its second appearance in this year's NASCAR
NEXTEL Cup Series schedule when it sponsors Boris Said and the No. 36
Chevrolet of MB2 Motorsports in the Sept. 5 Pop Secret 500 at California
Speedway. "We are very proud to be taking this next step in our
relationship with MB2 and Boris," said Robert E. Sutton, chairman and
chief executive officer of CENTRIX. "We knew we would be putting Boris
back behind the wheel of our car, we just needed to figure out the best
track to do it on."

Shop Rat Associates will sponsor the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford at
California Speedway: Roush Racing announced today that Shop Rat Associates
will sponsor the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford and rookie Carl Edwards Labor
Day Weekend at California Speedway for the Pop Secret 500. The sponsorship
is a one race deal that will be used to promote the new Shop Rat
Foundation, a non-profit organization established this year. "I'm excited
to have Shop Rats on the No. 99 Ford for California," said Edwards. "The
concept behind Shop Rats is good and I'm glad we are able to team with
them to help get their message out to the NASCAR audience."

Berrier and McCall fined $500: Nextel Cup crew chiefs Todd Berrier and Lee
McCall were fined $500 for rule violations that occurred at Watkins Glen.
Berrier, crew chief for the No. 29 Chevrolet of driver Kevin Harvick, for
an unapproved fuel cell spacer, and McCall, crew chief for the No. 40
Dodge of driver Sterling Marling, for driver shoulder harness belts in
which the manufacturer's date had expired. Both infractions were
discovered by NASCAR officials during opening-day inspection.

Tryson and Reno fined $5,000: Nextel Cup Series crew chiefs Pat Tryson,
crew chief for the No. 6 Ford of driver Mark Martin, and Marc Reno, crew
chief for the No. 09 Dodge of driver Bobby Hamilton Jr., were fined $5,000
each for fuel cell bladder infractions that occurred during last weekend's
NASCAR Nextel Cup event at Michigan International Speedway. Both
infractions were discovered by NASCAR officials during Friday's
opening-day inspection.
