Some Thoughts...

Quote of the week from Bristol: Kevin Harvick talking about Kurt Busch. "He deserves to get his teeth knocked out for being such a smart ass". Wow! The pot IS calling the kettle black! Since Kev refers to Kurt as 'Rubberhead', can we start calling Kev 'Kettlehead'?

Quote of the week from last week at Michigan: Ryan Newman. "This wasn't a fuel mileage race". Really? You were in third place and probably would have never won the race hadn't the two drivers in front of you had to stop for a splash of gas. My engineering degree didn't come from Purdue like yours did, but I'm guessing that quite possibly it could have been a fuel mileage race.

Man, I've been to five Winston Cup races this year and I saw Kurt Busch win three and Ryan Newman win two. Nothing against those two, but hopefully I don't see them win next year.

Gotta love those Earnhardt fans...Booing Matt during driver introductions Friday & Saturday and cheering when he wrecked Friday night. At first, I was like WTF did Matt ever do to Junior that Junior hasn't done to Matt or anybody else for that matter? But then I just smiled and thought to myself, "Yup, they're just admitting defeat, throwing in the 'ol preverbal towel!" :)

Out of the mouth of babes...When they started booing Jeff Gordon, my daughter stood up and yelled as loud as she could, "Ya'll are jealous 'cuz Junior won't win as many races or championships!" I laughed. The people around us just loved her, well at least the Jarrett & Martin fan next to us and the Marlin & J. Gordon fan behind us.

Is Kurt Busch a better Winston Cup driver than Dale Earnhardt Jr.? The stats prove that he might be. They both have eight career points wins, and Kurt did it in one less full season than Junior. :p

i see them both winning 3 or 4 a piece or hopefully more

I see Busch in the wall at least 5 times the rest of this season.

For a person with a very strong opinion about Kurt, you haven't come out and told us who your favorite driver is? Or maybe I missed it & I apologize.

just another person hating on kurt just wishing that his driver could win 8 races two years and this year isnt over yet

I like;
Robby Gordon, Stirling Marlin, Dale Jr, Matt K, Kyle Petty,(my second son is named Kyle) Ricky Rudd, and not in that order.

Was looking forward to Adam Petty, he would have been my most favorite WC driver.

I liked Dale Sr., and Davey Allison. I was there at Davey's first WC race in 1985 at Talladega Watched it from turn one infield, In that race I saw Grag Sacs spin and crash, and Derryl Waltrip spin in turn one. After the race we entered the pits with my dads WC drivers lisence where I met Davey while they were inspecting his car. Very nice kid.

Niel Bonnett was a favorite of mine.

can't forget about Richard Petty, I climbed the garage pit fence one year at Ontario after he blew a motor, and aked for his autograph, I was 15, and he saw me climb that fence. With a grin as wide as a mac truck, he signed my hat. He said to me "watching you climb that fence makes me feel better kid, thanks!" or something like that.

Oh ya, Cale Yarborough, extremely cool to me when we were in Charelott NC trying to qualify 1977. Boy was he a short stout little sucker, looked like an olympic wrestler back then.

Some of the drivers I don't like, A.J. Foyt tops that list. and really that is all I need to say, the others don't even compare. Kurt Busch to me is a saint compared to A.J. We garaged next to his car at Charelott, and man what an A**h***

I won't leave on that though, I have to say something about Bobby Allison. He really tried to help my Dad. I appreciate all he did back then. It broke my heart to him lose two sons like that.

Kyle Petty said that one of the most important times of Adams funeral was seeing Bobby Allison, and Bobby embraced Kyle.

Anyway, those are some of my favorite things in Nascar.
