Does anyone here actually race? Locally or in a touring series? If so, please respond to this.
 
You mean as a driver, team owner, crew, or an association with a race team.
 
I'm a part owner of a 3 car dirt track team.

we own, a UMP Super Late Modle, UMP Open Wheel Mod, and a Pure Stock (P/S for Paducah Internation Raceway, Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway, and where ever the rules fit.)

Dad will drive the LM/Mod
I'll drive the PS

Well will race in KY,TN,IL,AL,MO,MS
 
Lappy, you got that stocker ready yet? Haven't seen a picture of it since you picked it up. Upgrade us man. :)
 
I don't race,....but...I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express

looks the same as it did in the last pic...just gettin the shop ready!
 
We raced some in the Trans Am Series back when it was very competitive with fields of 35 to 40 cars. Marybeth Harrison was our driver. Some name drivers that we competed against were Boris Said, Paul Gentilozzi (was a friend to our team), Willy T. Ribbs, Brian Simo, Johnny Miller, etc. We raced at Laguna Seca, Mosport, Road America, Cleveland, etc. Our car had a Pratt & Miller chassis and a CRD engine. Bob Cronin builds a pretty good engine.

We disbanded when the economy tanked. We are trying to get back into racing again and are pursuing sponsorship for one of the road racing series, Nascar Busch North, or maybe Arca, depends on sponsorship.
 
Sorry for the thread drift here, but I really miss those old Trans Am days with those that you raced against. My fav, Dorsey Schroeder. He could wheel those Mustangs. :beerbang:
 
yep, know that Lappy races and damned proud of him........going to proudly show that sticker too.........lappy will someday will the next jr or jeff or robby or tony........ :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: and I can say I knew him :)
