Someone needs to show Jeff Gordon this video

Bumping and running is barely use nowadays.

Not even the more aggresive drivers use it these days.

Gordon used to be a master of the bump and run, I also remember him doing it to Rusty Wallace for the win at Bristol one year. Not sure why you don't see it as much anymore.

Boys have at it probably cured some of that ( in a general sense, not referring to Jeff in particular).

I am in the minority on it but I dont like bump and runs. Even as an old Earnhardt fan, I didnt like the way he raced Terry Labonte at Bristol (which was beyond a bump and run).

If a driver is blocking you move him, but if he is running the line he would normally run race hin clean. Moving a guy just because it is the last lap is chicken**** and it deserves physical retaliation imo.
All of the above is just my opinion, we can still be friends if you want to be wrong and disagree :) with me.

I was at both of those races, I like the second one better than the first one. both were great races.

Jeff did it just a few years ago to Kyle at Phoenix. It's not done though anymore. Like someone said in another thread, you touch another car, it screws up your car has well.

Agreed but in some instances you just have to use the front bumper because say a guy like Montoya slows you down or what have you.

Assuming all of that is happening early to mid race.

It is more understandable during the last 10 laps but when a guy is blocking you 20 laps into the race you just gotta do what you gotta do.

That was unintentional though. Didn't Gordon get loose going into turn 1 and almost took them both out?

I was just a kid but I remember this race and cheering in front of the TV for the last 5 laps. Between this and Gordon's Atlanta win over Jimmie Johnson in 2011 are my favorites. Never seen Jeff race a loose car like that before, and haven't since. That fire needs to return before retire.

Well that Atlanta car was just beyond amazing.

I just saw that race again on youtube. Someone uploaded it completely. All 4 hours. Check it out..

He wouldn't have been able to drive it if it wasn't fast enough.

That damn Jimmie sucked all race long and almost won it. Guy can wheel a damn car for sure.

Not to mention his 2007 'Dega come from the back win. 2007 was his year man. He's either feast or famine but we need that consistency back. Maybe with that chip on his shoulder of his embarrassment last week he'll be more hungry.

If Kyle had a better car he shoulda chased Gordon down and repaid the favor, but that wasnt the case. I remember how pumped up Jeff was about beating Kyle Busch. I think in 2011 Gordon's crew finally had the newer COT figured out, and come 2013 we had another modification and the #24 camp is still tryna figure this machine out. I say put the 24 and 48 back into the same shop :p

Great trip down memory lane....one thing I always found funny about this race is Rusty used the bump and run to pass almost every car in the video (particularly Harvick for the lead) then he is upset when it was used on him....vintage Rusty lol....I miss the "bump and run Bristol" myself....
