Something I always wanted to know

I've always wanted to know this but why do they start only 36 Trucks? They go to all the tracks the Cup or Nationwide go to and they run 43 cars so why only 36 Trucks? I mean I don't see why 43 Trucks would make much of a difference anyway. I hope someone here can help me with this question.

It may be that when the series started, there weren't that many interested owners?

I think these guys usually crash so much, they figure with less trucks ...less carnage

The main reason I believe was when the Truck series first started a lot of the races were run on short tracks. Like CNS in Colorado, a 3/8 mile track, there just wasn't room for 43, in fact 36 was tight.

Yeah i remember that up to just a few years ago they were still going to tracks under a 1/2 mile they were cool races. Wish they could do some of that again but my guess the arguement would be is the "market" isnt any good.

I say cut down Cup to 36 also and shorten the races. Also stop all the concerts before the races when I tune in to Cup I'm there for the racing

Well for the concert you now just don't tune in til the race starts??? Concert or not it starts when it starts lol.

But okay they go to the bigger tracks now Nascar go to and as far as I know Trucks don't have their own track that only they go to right? So I say up it to 43 trucks but that's just me

The series just barely supports 36, no way 43 truck teams could exist in this economy right now.

Maybe not but instead of sending guys how if 38 trucks show up they could just start everyone.

The purse is set long before the race date. Adding trucks would take less from the established number of starters.

I actually kinda like this idea. Just post a minimum speed, and whoever shows up, races.
