Something I just found out.......

Most of you know by now that I'm a pretty good supporter of Jimmy Spencer........in fact you could call me a Spencer fan and I'd be tickled to hear it!! :D I've been pretty excited about Jimmy getting a ride in the 4 car for Morgan-McClure this season. And since I found out that good news a few weeks ago I've been trying like heck to find a Jimmy Spencer hat to wear to the race next Sunday here in California.........but I haven't had much luck finding anything except some overpriced and very old #7 Sirius caps from last year. :( I've checked all his fan sites.......most are closed until he gets sponsorship. The same with Morgan-McClure sites. Well Cutie found an email address for Spencer fans (she's the search queen of the internet..........I swear, she can find anything :) ) and sent an email requesting any information at all. Guess what!! She got an answer almost immediately.........not some computer generated auto response either. It was from a woman named Chris Spencer........Jimmy's sister!! She explained the situation which is that Jimmy has no sponsor (Morgan-McClure either) and so there will be no souvenir trailer at California this Sunday.........and that Jimmy has no appearances either because of the no sponsorship. Very apologetic and very polite. Well Cutie just couldn't let it go by that she was so amazed at the personal and very quick response and fired a thank you email back to Chris. And Chris answered right back with another very nice and personal email. I told Cutie to tell Chris to tell her brother to kick butt this weekend.......and she did!! :D

I want to know who can say they've had such a quick and nice exchange with a driver's family member? I've written to Jr's site and I've yet to receive an answer!! Goes to show, these "lessor" drivers have a lot going for them even if they aren't in the best of equipment or most talented out there. Right now, I'm about ready to drop Jr and head on over to Jimmy's side of the fence!! :D Well, maybe not......but I am impressed with the Spencer family!!

Delana Harvick has been extremely nice to me, and so has Kevin. Thats a big reason why Kevin is my favorite... he knows how to treat his fans.

Jimmy was at the short track firday night in the booth. i dont really recall what he said or what they talked about. (short term memory) <_<

Nice that you had a good experience with the Spencer family. I know of a tire distributor who can't say the same though. :p

Jimmy doesn't bother me either. I'd rather see him win than a lot of guys out there.

when i was lookin for sponsorship from the ledgon car i still have not got. i sent an e-mail to the Wood Borthers, andgot an e-mail back really fast. but they turned me down, but it never hurts to ask.

The nicest drive i have meet would be Deb Renshaw, Meet her last year comming home from Dega, did not know who she was tell she said, follow me to the track and i'll get ya a pic.

Schrader was also very nice when i met him, so was althe drivers i have meet (K Wallace, R Gordon, K Harvick, E Wood)

Jimmy came way up on my rooting list when he poked Kurt in the nose!
Seriously we always watched for Jimmy in the race and tickled pink he is back and hope he is a full time sponser real soon.

I met Kenny S. in Fresno a few years ago...he has got to be one of the nicest men in Nascar....took time to sign my son's name on his hat and say, from Kenny S. instead of just signing his name....and that smile of his, I swear can light up the room! :)

You are absolutely right about fans being able to access drivers in Nascar. I went to college at East Tenn. State University which is in Johnson City, TN. It is about a 10 minute ride to Bristol and a 25 minute drive to Abingdon, VA where Morgan-McClure has his headquarters.

I popped into their shop just to see if I could get a tour. They politely declined in the nicest way possible, but was able to shake Tim Brewer's (crew chief) hand and was given an old bumper sticker from the Kodak days.
