This happens in all three series. Just a couple laps left and the tv guys try to talk to the leader under caution......Well maybe they wanna discuss pit strategy or how they are gonna win the race????? Worst time to try and talk to someone:rolleyes:

I agree. I really don't understand the need to talk to these guys between the green and checkered flags. They tried three times last night to talk to Todd before that restart. Was it a technical issue or simply that Bodine had other things to think about at the time? I'd guess the latter.

The talking to a driver anytime is for what purpose? To amuse listeners? What does anyone think a driver will tell a commentator? His plans. giving away any strategy. ANd even if he does, who cares.

Okay, I've vented but just so there is no mistake, IMO, talking to a driver anytime during the actual race is dumb, dumb, dumb!

another ditto here. The whole "in race reporter" thing bugs me, never liked it at all.

A driver coming to the green on pace laps has a million things running thru his head. Following a caution it's a time to "relax" and take a deep breath while running those caution laps while a million and one things now run thru your head.

I can't wait for this one from DJ:
"This is from our ESPN mailbag, why did you quailify so poorly?"
Driver: Hmm, because I didn't go fast enough?"
Andy talking to the crew chief:
DJ asked why you qualified so poorly, can you tell the fans?"
CC: Boy, you guys are really dumbazzes

Can I tell you what is getting on my nerves? Maybe somebody else is having the same problem. It's the front on sight of that twisted car coming at you down the front straight. It doesn't look right, it looks kinda silly. Someone was saying the other day that the drivers are have a problem because when they scrub the wall, the spoiler is the first thing that hits. Well time to straighten up.:growl:

Yeah, there's dog tracking and then there's just plain sideways.

Funny thing...I met an old Rambler on the road the other day and I swear it was nearly as bad as these cars at Pocono.

On the upside, it gives Hornish a head start on going in circles ;)
