With crewchief and brother Paul, Taylor made his first test of the refurbished engine in good, (but not great), conditions on Wednesday with a corrected elevation of 787 feet above sea level. The launch covered the first sixty feet is an astonishing 0.874 seconds, the quickest in passenger car history by more than a hundredth of a second, before overpowering the world's quickest racetrack shortly after. Other than a 0.872 "sixty" clocked in testing almost a decade ago by Gary Densham in John Force's Mustang, Taylor's launch is quicker than those of NHRA supercharged nitro Funny Cars!
