Southern All Stars East Announces Schedule Changes and Additions
Gaffney, SC – Officials of the Southern All Stars East Racing Series announced today several changes to their 2007 event schedule. The event scheduled for Friday night August 3rd at the Thunder Valley Speedway in Lawndale, NC has been cancelled. Also the Saturday night August 4th event at Cherokee Speedway will be rescheduled to a date to be announced.
Officials are also happy to announce the addition of a thirty lap $2500 to win event on Monday night September 3, 2007 at the all new Travelers Rest Speedway located in Travelers Rest, SC. Track manager Jody Palmer is excited about the date. “We have been having some really good racing at the speedway and our first super late model show was awesome. We hope we can draw in some more cars and fans to see the great racing we have.” said Palmer. Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:30 PM EST with hot laps at 7:00 PM EST.
“We are starting a little early in hopes to have everybody out of there at a decent hour since it is a Monday night.” Palmer said. “Jody has done a great job at Travelers Rest and we have heard nothing but good things about the racing up there. It should be a great compliment to our big $10,000 to win event at Cherokee the night before.” said Series co-owner Lennie Buff.
Each race will feature the fan-favorite Delaware Double File Restarts where track conditions allow. The restarts will be utilized up until the halfway point of the qualifying heat races and until the ten to go mark in the features. Officials reserve the right to call off the double file restarts when track conditions are no longer conducive for fair competition.
