Has anyone heard more on Ray Everham's return? It was mentioned he'd have to get out of a no-compete clause in his contract with Gillete. If so I think this is the first time I've heard of a no-compete clause in Na$car.

If he did any guesses on how successful he'd be?
 
I thought there was a thread on this last week entitled, Evernham Back To Hendrick?

Anyhow, Evernham is on Dave Moody's show every week and this has been brought up many times. He doesn't go into detail about it but apparently it does exist.

That rumor was posted by me that was mentioned by Jerry Punch on the radio last week. The no-compete clause is true. Whether Evernham would go back as a crew chief, we'll see. But there is apparently talk of that.
 
How long has it been since Ray crewed a car? The COT is a totally different car. It would take nearly a year for him to come up to speed, but he could do it.

No i think he know quite a bit about it wouldn't take him very long to get the ins and outs especially if he had a good team around him and Chad to help him.;)
 
He has always said that he was Jeff Gordon's crew chief and would never be a crew cheif for anyone else.
Has anyone ever heard Ray tell the story of when he interviewed Chad for HMS? He asked him what his long term goal was and Chad told him "I want your job".
