The AJ failed drug test is why I'm posting this.
Unofficially my son will soon be employed again. YAY! The official word will come Monday. He got this position thru networking which seems to be the way it is today. The guy he knows who is employed there gave him the word last night but also a warning. He knows John is a health nut and takes a variety of supplements daily, he's to knock them off immediately as when the official call comes Monday he'll be directed to a lab to be tested immediatly, within 2 hours. No chance to purge, cleanse or whatever they do to get a clean test. Also advised to not only list whatever concoctions he takes, available at fine GNC stores everywhere, but also bring the packaging listing all the ingrediants. And that he lists everything on the form and also gives HR list. It is his responsibilty to keep the list with HR up to date with any additional stuff or any stuff he no longer takes. I'm extremely happy for him, he's paid his dues in hell working retail and this is a very big step up. Maybe now he can pay rent?:)

My point is WOW, companies are really cracking down, it's not just na$car.

I've been the owner of a small business for 18 years during that time I've had every new employee submit to a pre-employment drug test and had monthly random drug test ( includeing me ) performed by the same company ( LabCorp ) Maybe it's just me or my particular business but I've never had anyone I wanted to hire fail the drug test or had a employee fail a random drug test. I had one employee who did refuse to go take a drug test after an on the job accident, unfourtunatly due to policy I had to immediatly terminate his employment. He collected no insurance benefits or un-employment benefits because of His decission.
During these 15 years I've had employees come and go along with a strong core group that seems like they have Always been here, currently I have 22 employees and I'm thinking overall I've had approx 80. BTW we do drug testing because I'm a stickler over some things and with the equipment, machinery and customers vehicles we have here an "Accident" could be VERY EXPENSIVE, I get a nice insurance discount also :D
It just Surprises me to hear that so many other business have a problem with drug testing and applicants being unable to pass pre-employment drug test?

I got sidetracked and forgot to say Good Luck to your son!

My mom used to work at Winstar Casino, i have friends that still do. The drug teating there is idiotical.
