For all you dirt fans who watched the race on the telly, take note of the people sitting and standing in front of those huge billboards between turns one and two. I'm the guy dressed in the dark green parka, long johns, Carhart insulated cap, and hood up (look a little like the sketch of the uni-bomber:D) wearing goggles and sitting in a green fold up sport chair. If the hood wasn't up and buttoned across the front it might be easier to recognize me because of the beard .

I was with Daryn Pittman and the Heffner Racing #27! During a break in the action, I met a guy with the Jac Haudenschild driven car, and he told me about his friend. Seems Friday night, the guy was standing in the area described, standing under the bill boards. A clump of dirt came through the safety fence and hit him in the mouth knocking out his two front teeth! Another chap was standing there listening to the story and it turns out, he was the one that lost his teeth! He reiterated the story and his reaction was, "I'm just glad it wasn't my eye."

The racing was great. I left as soon as the sprint car feature ended and luckily, had no problem leaving the track. Guess everybody was staying for the late model feature. By ten-thirty I was in my hotel room, watching the time delay on Speed as there was about a thirty minute time delay from the actual race and broadcast.

Good night of racing and a real great finale to the end of a successful year although the night wasn't what Heffner Racing and Daryn Pittman hoped for.

Scrub-a-dub Car Wash on Facebook

wish i had it on dvr to see if i could spot you.

sounds like you had a great weekend but i can't believe you left before the late model feature! sometimes i wonder about you sprint car fans!:D

First off, it was great meeting you Ken.

Secondly, if you're looking for it on Facebook, ya gotta look for Scrub A Dub Performance Car Wash, because there's a ton of them out there without the word "performance" in the name. (I liked it just now:))

Lastly, you missed a great title fight in the late models, but then I guess the old guy's gotta get going before it gets too late;)

Funny thing about dirt race fans. The late model fans don't like sprint cars, and the sprint car fans don't like the late models. I'm usually the odd one out, as I completely love both late models and sprint cars.

I like both.. If I had to choose, it would be late models. :)

I don't mind the sprint cars once in awhile. My problem with them is they take forever to get going having to be pushed off and such.

I personally find late models to be awkward looking.

Yeah they are but not as awkward as they were back in the day. lol

You have a local track you attend KK?

Whizzer's experience is one reason why I do not stand at the fence for any reason. I've seen too much crap come off cars and from the track itself to even think about doing that. That's why I'd prefer to be in the infield.

I have some within a couple hours of me, but have never had a chance to go had tried to go to Williamsgrove over the summer, hopefully next season. being from PA its Sprint car country. My dad had a friend who used to race them. But I've always liked them since I was little because my dads other friend had a whole row of diecast ones in his living room and I thought they were the coolest looking things.

That's possibly the biggest complaint I hear from late model fans. But to me, when there's one or two well done slide jobs, it makes the wait well worth it. It also depends on the track you're at. Those that rarely have sprint cars take longer than those that know very well how to run a good smooth sprint car show.

I know there are late model "fans" that feel the same way about sprint cars.

The Sprint Cars are rare around here. The last ones I saw were at Crossville Raceway(ever been ?) and I left about 2 AM lol
