Speed Channel Signs Bob Jenkins
Speed Channel has signed veteran motor sports broadcaster Bob Jenkins to co-anchor the network's signature weekend racing news program, Speed News. Jenkins, who spent nearly 30 years as a motor sports announcer for ESPN and ABC, has received many honors including the Tony Hulman Award, given by the National Association of Auto Racing Fan Clubs for unselfish devotion to motor sports, the Roger McCluskey Award from the United States Auto Club in recognition of his standards of excellence in the sport of auto racing, and the Henry T. McLemore Motorsports Press Award which recognizes outstanding motor sports journalism in the field of writing, broadcasting or photography. A permanent plaque with his likeness is in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talladega, Ala.(That's Racin')

That's great. I was glad to see him on Speed last weekend.

I always liked Bob and I like Larry Nuber who was his partner in the early years on ESPN. However, it seems that those in power didn't care so much for Larry and he languished away in less limelight until he died some years ago. Good for Bob on his new gig.

Jenkins and Nuber were the IMHO the absolute best team in racing. I'm surprised Jenkins jumped ship because his heart is in open wheel.

??
Speed Channel is not exclusively Stock Cars. They carry everything. In fact, some Champ Car races will be on Speed this year.
