WASHINGTON (AP) - There's yet another recall of bagged fresh spinach because of a positive test for salmonella.
There are no immediate reports of illness linked to the tainted spinach, distributed by California-based Metz Fresh.
The recall comes nearly a year after an outbreak of another pathogen, E. coli, in fresh spinach killed three people and sickened another 200.
The latest recall affects 48 states and Canada, The product was sold in retail and food service packages. It covers more than 8,000 cases of spinach, although the company said more than 90 percent of that was on hold and would not be released.
Salmonella sickens about 40,000 people a year in the U.S. and kills about 600. It can cause diarrhea, fever, dehydration, abdominal pain and vomiting.

I used to eat a lot of spinach on my subs, but I've been afraid to since the last recall. I guess it's a good thing I was scared off. :cool:
 
And thousands upron thousands of children all across america are looking their parents right in the eyes and saying "So it's good for me, eat it all up, Eh? Bite me Mom."
