Ok, so NASCAR is going back to the spoiler, and adding an extra length to the bottom rear of the body, in order to maintain that "push" that the side panel on the wings gave the car.

So I have a question, is setting the car up with the wing any different than setting up the car with a spoiler? Are teams going to have to re-adjust their set-ups when the spoiler comes back?

From the tests it sounds like it loosened up the car a bit. Everybody i heard talk about it said the handling felt a whole lot better. Cant wait to see the first race with the spoiler back to see how it does.

At 200mph everything makes a difference,even the paint.At 50mph, nothing does.

I would imagine they will have to throw out their current notes and start new ones. This is an entirely different configuration with the splitter on the nose and the spoiler and new body pannels in the rear. Too many things are different, you will see some teams that did their homework nail it, others will be way off and it will take them quite a few races to get it right.

And now NASCAR says they are going to leave the wing on the car at the plate tracks for the rest of this season. I have to say there was some awefully good racing last Sunday. :beerbang:

I still say it should be team-elect. So the teams can choose between the spoiler and wing and you might even have both in the same race. Although IDK how the side skirt changes would effect that.

That would go against NASCAR's policy of everyone having the same car.

True, Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping Truck, and even ARCA has become spec racing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Wait a minute, wasn't it said the COT would save owners money because a Daytona car could run at other tracks, say Michigan. That they wouldn't have to build "specialty" cars like short track vs speedway cars?

I hear that.Keeping the car the same is essential to the idea. But if this wing/spoiler is a simple bolt on piece that improves racing at the superspeedways either in downforce, safety,or sidedrafting; it is probably something that everyone would be happier with.I think they need to make public the results of their speedway testing asap.

Now that would be interesting to leave it up to the teams which one they want to use. I wonder which would be better for drafting and which pack would be the lead pack. I heard that the spoiler punches a bigger hole and the guy behind can suck up quicker to the lead car.
