I figure it the same as when TRG has their logo on their cars. It's just your owner spending as little as they can, only because nobody else wants to stick a foot in.
just checked NOL/jayski, all cup cars have some wort of external sponsorship.

Hmmm, seems to me that when I began watching this sport, there weren't very many sponsors. But that's a different story for now sponsorship is what it's all about.

Yep I remember that, on Wide world of Sports, I looked to see if the schedule had a re-run of the race, couldn't wait to watch with my dad. Most cars didn't have any sponsorship that I could see, but we knew who they were just by the color and the number. Coke was a big deal on the 12 car back in the day if i remember right, Donnie Allison drove it i think. Today that big sponsor name on your car is the key to making it or braking it.
