How much money does it take to sponsor a Winston Cup car. Like take Tony Stewart for example. How much money does Home Depot pay to have their decals on the car for a year. Does a company have to pay more to have their decal on the hood or the truck?

Don't think it's any exact dollar amount.........depends on what the teams and sponsor negotiate. I've heard primary sponsors pay as much as 5 million a year.

Wow.......lots of bucks for us working guys, huh?:)

Different teams, different cost. Same as location, Hood cost most followed by quarter panel and rear deck I belive. Full spomsorship for something like #20 you could expect in the Millions.

You can get Todd Bodines hood for about 185 grand for one race.Does that help?

I think UPS is paying a good $16-18 million per year to be the primary sponser for Dale Jarrett, if that helps.

It goes something like this: $12 million and up for a proven frontrunner (such Penske, Ganassi, Yates), and $7-10 million for a mid-packer (such as Bill Davis, PE, or Petree). For someone like Brett Bodine or Junie Donleavy, $3-5 million would likely get you their hood and quarterpanels for the year. And that's just the primary sponsors. I believe associate sponsors pay about 15-25% that amount.

I read about this in a newspaper article a while back, but I can't for the life of me remember who wrote it.

I'm sure the DuPont contract is a floating one in which Dupont ups the anti everytime another team gets more money!

Jeff is also on a very lucrativeservice contract with DuPont which is over & above the teams money.

I'll bet dupont puts out 25 million a year!

Which is money well spent bye the company.
I've read where the president of the company has said the mondays after a Jeff Gordon win are really good for the company morale & the bottom line shows it!
