Spring Training

then its just another 9 months till the Phillies win the world series:D

meh, never got into baseball....

Football, college basket ball, and NASCAR for me

I sure agree with you on this one. When you have a team that has been in a rebuilding mode for 18+ years like my Pittsburgh Pirates that will take the fun out of baseball. Bring on NASCAR.

I never liked baseball either. I've passed games on TV and it looks like the place is 90% empty. Makes ya wonder how they can keep going.

The Phillies have 50 straight sell outs of so...what was it a Nationals vs Marlins game?

Cause your rooting for the wrong side of the state:D

Red Sox are 631 consecutive sell outs and counting.

To me, a sell out is the seats are full.

Tickets may sell out, but all the seats arn't full.

Circumstances don’t always cooperate. When games fall on cold, rainy April evenings, Holzman says he can get stuck with “hundreds and hundreds” of unsold tickets. The same thing happens for some games in late September if the Sox are playing poorly and are out of contention. Still, no matter how many tickets wind up in the waste bin at Ace and other brokers, the team can claim a sellout -- and the streak goes on.

Bring back Kent Tekulve. That is the old Pirate team that I loved way back when. Now that's what I call a side arm delivery.

I think that John Candelaria's simply retired and enjoying retirement.

Kent Tekulve is working for Fox Sports Pittsburgh and is an analyst for the Pirate television broadcast.

Here's an interview with him from the other day...... Link

When I was younger, I was really into it, I could tell you every stat from the late 80's Braves. But when Pete Rose was banned from the HOF, that ruined it for me. As much as I loved the Braves, he was my favorite player.

I'll go to a Nationals game or two and maybe an O's game, but only if its a bunch of friends going or my kids want to go. Other than that, I'll stick to coaching my boys and watching minor leagues.

I want you to root for the Phillies:D

I still really like baseball. I'm an Indians fan, so my team hasn't done much in a while. The biggest problem I have with major league baseball is that many teams have no chance at all of winning it all. Teams like the Yankees can simply outspend everybody else. It doesn't guarantee that they win it all every year, but they have a much bigger margin for error. If they make a mistake on a player they simply pay the guy off and move on to another guy that smaller market teams can't afford to keep.

All that being said, I still love watching it. There are enough guys like Josh Hamilton to root for to keep me very interested. To see a guy like that get another chance and make the most of it is great. Then, of course, to see that team have a miracle season is pretty fun. Seeing guys like Michael Young who have played really well on some pretty bad teams for years without complaining and then get a chance to play in the playoffs and even make it to the World Series is always great.

i was in chicago during the late 60's and early 70's. you could catch either a cubs or a white sox game on tv almost every day, sometimes both. of course my favorite team at the time was the cardinals. the cubs and the cardinals, now there was a rivalry.

Young is now complaining, doesn't want to be a DH, and wants to be traded.

Well the tickets were sold, so what is your point? Even if they were sold to a broker, the actual selling of the seat took place, thus the sell out.

I already said my point....to me it's not a sell out unless the seats are full
