ANDOVER, N.J. – Officials from NVE Pharmaceuticals announced a merger between the Stacker2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series and the United Midwest Promoters (UMP). Doug Bland, president of the Stacker2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series, will join Ken Schrader, Bob Sargent, Robert Lawton and Howie Comander of UMP as the new ownership of the improved Stacker2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series.

The new series will retain the Stacker2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series name and will feature events at premier race venues across the country to conclude the 2004 season. The basic elements and structure of the original series will remain intact with the exception of some adjustments to the existing tire rule. With the removal of the tire conflict, the new series stands to pick up several big names and several high profile events.

“Stacker2 came into this sport with the goal of taking dirt late model racing to a new level and giving the dirt racing fans something they had never seen before,” said Bob Occhifinto, President/CEO of NVE, maker of Stacker2 and YJ Stinger. We are proud of the strides that have been made this season to accomplish this goal, but realized the fragmentation that exist in the dirt racing world was standing in the way of reaching our ultimate goal – bringing the best show in the country to fans all over the country.

“There was no hesitation in my mind when the opportunity arose to join forces with Ken Schrader and the other owners of the UMP. This is a chance to see the elite drivers on the in all of dirt racing competing at one time on the premier tracks across the country. As a fan, what more could you ask for?”

The merger will allow the Stacker2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series to add key venues that are controlled by the new ownership group for the remainder of the 2004 season and will assist series officials in building a compelling race schedule in 2005.

“When Bob Occhifinto called me and asked me my thoughts on merging with the UMP, I saw an opportunity to extend what I set out to build from the beginning, America’s premier dirt Late Model racing organization,” Bland said. “It is great to have a sponsor with the same vision and resolve to see this thing through. The UMP is a prestigious organization known for great racing at great tracks. They bring a lot to the table and I welcome them to the fold.”

“I have watched as organizations have fought back and forth causing more damage to the sport of dirt racing than good,” said Schrader, NASCAR driver and co-owner of the new Stacker 2 Xtreme Dirt Car Series. “I know firsthand how important it is to have a committed sponsor. I have watched what Stacker2 has already brought to dirt late model racing after just one year and I can’t wait to see what the future brings. They have taken the first step to unify dirt racing and I feel fortunate to be a part of a team I believe will bring prosperity to a sport I and many fans love.”
