OK So its Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers. Canes took Game 1 5-4.. Who do you think will take it this year? Im going with the Canes especially since they're my team. but its going to be a good series :lurk:

Can't believe that the Canes came back in that game , wasn't it 4-1 Edmonton at one point? I was watching the Red Sox get trounced and had the hockey game on PIP, so i didn't catch that much of it. Too bad this series and the entire Stanely Cup playoffs aren't getting much exposure.

yeah, 3-0, then 4-1 i believe. they won it all in the third.. it was awsome.. I dont really watch hockey since well, i dont have OLN... i was at my girlfriends and she was all mad because I was watching the game. i can't wait until wednesday..
I dunno, the next game will tell the tale. If the oilers win, it could make for a very interesting series

I'm rooting for the Canes to win the cup and have been since the start of the playoffs. There's a team in the American Hockey League (AHL) that I like called the Lowell LockMonsters. They have the Canes as their NHL affiliate (But the New Jersey Devils will be their new affiliate next season).

Here I am not all that far from Raleigh where the Canes are based and I only know the name of the team and none of the players. I used to be a huge hockey fan but that was way back in the day when the Islanders were tops and Billy Smith was swinging his stick to anyone within reach of his crease. I rooted for both NY teams for some reason. I so remember Butch Goring and his old helmet. Those were the days.

Go Hurricanes! :D

I was a huge fan when the likes of Phil Esposito, Hodge, Boby Orr,Tony Esposito, and the other guys from that era played. I kind of got away from Hockey for awhile in the mid to late 80s then i started watching it again in the late 90s. I couldn't help but love it when The Aves won the Stanley Cup when Bourke played with them, that was wicked cool. The strike has hurt hockey tremendously, at least from the stand point of watching it on TV. I don't know if attendance figures are down this season or not, but i think i have watched a total of about 2-3 hours of hockey all season. I get OLN, so i'll try to catch some minutes tonight, but the Red Sox take center stage this time of year , especially when they are playing the Evil Empire.

5-0.. wow, quite a game.. I think with the canes going to the Oiler's home it shoud be interesting.. Canes might just take it in 4..
