Why's this race starting so late? Six NFL games are well in to the third quarter and all six games are extremely close. NFL got a huge jump on NASCAR today.

This race is starting way, way, way too late.

In defense of the Nascar, which I don't really follow, How were they supposed to know that todays games would be extremely close?

I meant to say I don't follow Football.o_O

That part's bad luck for NASCAR. However, games are always well in to the third quarter this time on Sundays. There's a reason NASCAR pushed the start times up in the Chase.

Races need to start 12:45pm EST in the Chase - 3:45pm EST for the Phoenix race.

They should just assume that the games will be close.

Maybe they're hoping to get viewers to switch to the late starting race after the early games are over.

Races used to start even later so this is an improvement.

The Homestead race used to start around 5PM.

Also local time in Texas is 2PM so this is about the usual time NASCAR races start.

Whats football got to do with it. Who watches that crap

Late game is Pittsburgh/New England. While it probably won't be a good game, those are two of the five or six most popular teams in America.

The races start at 1pm EST all year (except for left coast races which still start sooner than today's race). Then we get to the Chase and NASCAR starts the races late.

Television is more important than attendance now. Every Chase race should be green before 1pm.

Didn't NASCAR bring that motto back a few years ago?

I remember seeing alot of commercial boasting the fact the races would start at 12PM blah blah.

people are going to watch what they want no matter the start time. I have been back and forth between the skins chargers and saint jets game on now the race. then at 4:25 will be going back and forth between the raiders eagles and steelers pat and the race.

I got tired of the pre-race bull and turned GameMix on. As much as TNT's race coverage sucks, their pre-race show is the gold standard.

Me! :D

I like Motocross.

Still no idea how I'm going to get my fix now that FS1 took over speed.

I used to race Moto-cross when younger so I too am a fan. Supercross will be telivised as was the monster cup earlier.
Phoenix actually gets one race a year at the ballpark and its great.
Also a big fan of road racing

More than half the population of America?

Meaningless statistical nonsense. All the players are either in prison or on their way to prison or off torturing poor defensless animals somewhere, nobody left to play

Too much coffee? :D

Mid week primetime races during football season. Fixed.

Texas got special permission from Nascar to start their Nov race later in the day. I don't remember why, but they have alway wanted the Nov race to finish under the lights. If you ask me I think it is smart. I'd say most of their viewers are in the Eastern/Central timezones. Might as well start towards the end of the early games which are east coast based.
