Stenhouse staying in the 17

Well, I guess we can cross him off the list for jumping in the #5 car.

Haha poor Ricky. I just can't wait for him to get to where he is capable of. That team is progressing and they will get there some day. He may never be a real contender but I think he could be a win a year kind of guy.

He's a proven winner in the Cup Light Series. I'd like to see him do well here too. I just wish Roush was the organization that it once was, someone to contend with week in week out. Manufacturer means zilch to me. It's just sad seeing what the organization has turned into. They should be far better than they are.

I gotta give him credit, he is running better. Last year I was convinced Stenhouse was the worst driver in the Cup series. He's got talent, he just needs to learn how to keep the car in one piece. If the team keeps improving and he keeps his cars out of trouble, I think he'll be in good shape.

He caught a lot of **** last year but it was my opinion he was driving lemons. I remember him losing his brakes multiple times that resulted in crashes along with other part failures as well. That being said, they started to have solid finishes towards the end of the year and seems to have carried over to this year. Good for him as I like to root for the underdogs and drivers who get trashed by keyboard warriors.

As I recall, they got some bad data out of their wind tunnel and / or 7-post test for the introduction of the COT, and they gradually declined since. Hopefully they've turned the corner.

Shoulda put Bubba in that ride but Roush is struggling across the board
Bubba has work to do, imo. Obviously Xfinity results don't correlate entirely to Cup results but his experience down there so far has been outclassed by Ricky's and Buescher's.

I *guess* it is legit about Stenhouse having a contract extension...:idunno: He specifically said that in his video on the linked Facebook page. However, the press release about Fastenal's extension did not confirm that Ricky had signed an extension. It only confirmed that the sponsor and the team had signed. It seems odd for the press release to be worded that way if Ricky has in fact signed an extension.

I wonder what will happen if it turns out Ricky lied about Roush, Fastenal and himself?

Maybe they'll shoot him and claim it was robbers.

Press release language is usually vetted very carefully. The only specific reference I've found to a Stenhouse extension is Ricky's verbal statement in the video, although Ricky was mentioned in the press release. All I'm saying is, I think it's odd.

Roush Fenway Racing Announces Multi-Year Extension with Fastenal: Roush Fenway Racing has secured a multi-year partnership extension with primary partner the Fastenal Company that will continue Fastenal's position as the anchor partner of the #17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team and driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. As part of the extension, Fastenal will also increase the number of its primary races in 2017 and beyond.

I still think Harvick is moving on and Stenhouse will lose his ride . Might just take a few years longer than I thought . .;) .

I was came down on both Bayne and Stenny last year so I am pleased to see the improvement in both teams. It would be nice to see Stenhouse get the win at Bristol in the fall at a track he has always run well at.

Not surprised by this
