Tony Stewart seems to be in the habit of giving his crew chiefs the shaft eh?.. but anyway.. anyone know who's going to be driving the 51? Because right now Addington is listed as a crew chief for a car with no driver lol.

Also David Ragan, David Gilliland, and AJ Allmendinger dont have crew chiefs yet. And the 32, another driverless ride.. has Frank Stoddard Jr... I know this will all get sorted out but that must be off putting being listed as a crew chief with no driver...

Allgaier is driving the 51.
 
I think I read some comments from Addington where he acted shocked that he was let go by Tony. Like he wasn't sure what the hell was going on. This one shouldn't have come as a surprise. The whole 14 teams was under performing all year and I think threw in the towel once Tony was hurt.

At this rate I don't see Tony doing that great.. I mean he's gone through what? Three crew chiefs in as many years? and dumped the one that got him a cup... :rolleyes:
 
... and now he's hiring a CC that has one once in the past 8 years or something? Addington made the chase before, and didnt exactly get a shot at showing what he can do this season.. what a joke.

To be fair, Tony fired Grubb before the chase happened. So we can't really be sure how much of the championship is owed to Grubb that year. Could be the Grubb had little input, or a whole lot. The one thing I will say is it isn't like Grubb is winning Hamlin any championships. Although that is whole other bag of worms.

With Addington, he just had to go.

I am really excited to see how he does with Johnston. However Tony and Truex are too different personality types, I bet Johnston will find Tony easier to work with though on a talent level.

Why? He never even got a full season to show anything.. He's a winner, and Tony is known for being a slow starter.... so what Tony gets to sucks as usual for the first half of the season with every other cc he's ever had but then when he doesn't get to finish the other half the CC gets fired? I think its stupid and I hope Chad Johnston is worse... which I think he will be..

He had over a season and a half with Tony. Also he buckled under pressure and couldn't keep the team competitive after tony was injured. The team just got worse.

the 14 team got steadily worse. his wins this year were the exception not the rule. his cars were never consistent. the whole team needed the much needed shake up they got.

Why ???? the 22 car dont have a driver either :laugh::laugh::laugh:
 
Addington is confirmed as crew chief for the 51 car next year. The team said his familiarity with Hendrick equipment will help.
