Okay, I'll ask another Twignorant question. What would be the point? I might pay some attention to O'Donnell. I wouldn't give a rip about some nobody with a low number of followers and an opinion no more informed than mine.

The same reasons that alt / alias accounts can proliferate anywhere in online discussion, including a forum such as this. Two major reasons:

1. To falsely create the impression that more people vocally agree with you than actually do.

2. To be able to make anonymous remarks that you may not be willing or able to make under your actual known identity. This can include personal attacks, and the motivation certain insecure public figures might have to do so is obvious.

Having said that, the poster here who might have been able to best explain why some people continually create new accounts and identities to post under is no longer with us.

Because I'm spending my time wisely, I glanced through the account's tweets and replies. Doesn't look like O'Donnell himself to me, but a burner of someone closely associated with or working for NASCAR for sure. Someone with some pretty vicious grudges against certain media members too, including less critical ones like Gluck.
