Well my ear infections seems to have gone away, but the congestion has moved into my lungs. Got a pretty bad cough going...

One word of advice, don't take a double does of NyQuil a few hours before you have to go to work.

You're right...I think smoking makes these kinds of things stick around a little longer...and the cough about 10 times worse.

One gets sick very easily working in health care, plus going into a new house with all new people and all new germs...

Oh, yes, smoking definitely lowers your resistance to infections and nasty little bugs.

Every year a new crop of students meant a new crop of bugs I had to fight off.

Lots of chicken soup. :)

Lots of chicken soup, yes...and lots of rest. One good thing about my last few weeks is that I've gotten a lot of snoozing in. :)

Get better soon, we have missed you on here. What is it you do in health care?
I quit smoking Sept. 9, 2001, the odd thing is I have had way more chest colds since I quit, the doctor says it is normal, but I still think it's weird.

I work in residential care...a group home with the mentally retarded.

About 4 years ago I was offered a job as a case manager for the mentally retarded. I decided it wasn't what I wanted at the time. It can be a very draining career, yet very rewarding.

Geeze Paul. You've been sick for some time now. Hope you feel much better soon!
