A legend. A racing giant of his era. And a bon vivant who enjoyed life to the fullest, with style. Four times runner up in the F1 points championship (a title he never won). Also famous for winning the 1955 Mille Miglia, when he teamed up with co-pilot Denis Jenkinson. Jenks sat in the passenger seat reading pace notes the two had prepared in advance, giving hand signals indicating the next corner was left or right, and which gear (thus how much speed) could be used. Until then, the Mille Miglia was always done alone, without route notes, and Moss' innovation allowed him to win by over 30 minutes!
Godspeed Stirling Moss.
