Imagine baseball without the pinstripes, the NFL without the blue and silver star, the NBA without a shamrock, or college football without golden helmets.

Whether you love or loathe the teams affiliated with those images, logos and colors, you have to admit that sports would feel a bit adrift without them.

That's been the case for 11 years in major American motorsports, which has been largely devoid of its all-time most recognizable sponsor logo. But this summer the red, white and blue oval logo of STP is coming back. Big time.

Great news. Nice to see NASCAR going back to some of it's roots. Especially after reading in the Jeremy Mayfield story about his claims that Brian France was trying to "take the south" out of NASCAR.

Now bring back Winston. It took me a while to stop calling the Sprint cup the Winston Cup, anyways.

STP has been somewhat involved with the World of Outlaws in both sprint cars and dirt late models the last couple of years. Good to see them coming back into NASCAR.

Our season started last Saturday night down here and I didn't see any more STP signage than I usually do. No one in the pits mentioned any added bonuses? I'll ask around this weekend. I hope they're back in force. They used to be a fixture at about any track. Looking forward to seeing more representation.
