Suddenly, I'm pulling for Rusty at Daytona

Rusty Gonna Win The 500 this year.I just got that feeling:)

"Wallace was quickly corrected, however. That's all fans of "legal-drinking age," Wallace was told. "

Oh well.

:p

66 lets pack our fakes and head to the beach :D

Its Miller time! hehehe

I'll be 18 a week after Daytona. Shoot...;)

Maybe Miller should do this for every race so maybe Rusty will win one this year...

If I am gonna pull for Rusty they better make it a case of beer.:D

And at least a beer I like! LOL

i think the daytona 500's gonna be dominated by the beer cars this year (miiler, bud & coors).

He will win A 500 but not THE 500!!!:D

JB or Kyle is going to win THE 500

I'd have to drink a case of beer to root for him.

That does sound like a pretty safe bet to me though, I feel like Miller Lite wont be have to give away 160,000 six packs

Not going to do it. Too high of speeds for him at the big track.

p.s. a free beer is a good beer!

As much as I want Bug to win, I wouldn't mind seeing Rusty or Terry pull it off.

Same here, at least Rusty isn't driving a :bazooka: Ford this year. Terry and Rusty are about the only vet's left that haven't won the 500. I hope they get one under his belt before both retire.

I'll never forget the interview with DE in 1997 right before the banquet. He was talking about his winning championships and the 500. He admitted, rather shyly, that "you want to win the 500".

That's one of the more unusual promotions that I've heard. But you do what you've got get people rootin' for ya. Shame I'm not of legal drinking age.

There would be a lot of people cheering really hard for him.....

He might get the Hard Charger of the Race award........

:D

Gee i wish Rolling Rock would sponsor a car then i would really have to follow that driver.....lol. Anything to get a response from the fans huh?!:D

And if Rusty dont win... a lot of pissed off beer-lovers!!! :)

Mark Martin ain't got one.
Does Rudd have one?

Oh, and spoken like a true bowtie boy. :D

I honestly forgot about those two. I wouldn't mind seeing them win one either. But Mark would pull over and let someone pass him if they got too close to his bumper and with Rudd driving for the Wood bro's...who knows what he will do.

Not slamming Martin and I know there was already a thread about it, but I just wish (as much as I can for a Ford driver) that he would be a little more aggressive. The race he won last year wasn't like him at all.....zipping around cars like they were standing still...Maybe he has the hunger again?

It's a fine line between being "not agressive enough" and being a "gentleman". As it is between a "hard charger" and a "spin doctor".

Mark is a lot like Bill Elliott in that he doesn't spin people out. If he ain't got the car, he gets out of the way with the anticipation that the favor will be returned at a later date. It isn't always like that. I also think he's the type driver that would rather have an assured fourth than risk finishing 12th trying to get third. If that's a weakness, I bet a lot of car owners and sponsors would live with it. After all, 2 fourths pay more points than a third and a 12th.

Rudd will go nowhere in the 21 this year. I used to love the Woods. Now, I weep for them. Wonder how many years until they become the new Junie?

It says" fans that are of legal drinking age (21) that are at the race will win free 6 pack. Im guessing that you show a ticket stub at a grocery store and get your free beer.

I wasn't trying to imply that I wanted to see him spin anyone out, just wanted him to "hold his ground".

I think it was the 2000 Daytona 500 when a few of his "friends" had a deal with him and then left him out to dry.

That happens every year, though. Those deals are worth the paper they are written on. Usually, the deals are valid only until the other party isn't looking. :D

Would not surprise me if Martin grabed the points lead early, and held it all year.:) Jack has his racing team tweaked like a fine tuned fiddle.;) Robert Yates,And Hendricks pose the only threat to Roush.

Not so fast. Penske has a kid named Newman who is gonna have something to say this year. Then there's some dude named Stewart who somebody is gonna have to beat.

That's my story, and I am sticking to it.:D Gibbs, and Penski are gonna be turning more wrenches than Wall Mart mechanic trying to get there cars right.:)
