Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the UMP Summernationals will visit Lincoln Speedway on Sunday.
The visit will bring drivers from all over the nation to the quarter-dirt oval track, paying $6,000 to the winner of the 40-lap Late Model feature.
Last year’s stop at Lincoln almost topped the attendance scales with 59 late models competing for the top prize.
Regular drivers following this year’s tour include last year’s UMP and Summernationals champion Dennis Erb, Jr., of Carperntersville, among others.
“Lincoln Speedway’s 2007 track champion and current points leader will be hard to beat on his home track,” stated a speedway press release.
Raffle tickets will be sold at the track for a lucky fan to take a ride around the dirt oval with his or her favorite driver in the two-seater late model.
Supporting classes will be UMP modified and street stocks.
Gates open at 1 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. Qualifying begins at 6:30 p.m.
Overnight camping is available for out-of-town visitors, or for those area residents wishing to make it a full night.
