Supreme Court paves way for legal sports gambling, some think this is a big deal for NASCAR

Harvick seems to enjoy telling other people how to spend their money and run their businesses. Does anyone remember him allowing a 3rd party to tell him how to spend his money when he ran a truck team?
 
Ct governor is all for it but he's heard that the leagues want a cut. Now where he's ''heard' or what ''leagues'' want in for a cut remains unknown. But we all know politicians must be licking their chops for more money to spend on their pet projects.

It is in the Harvick article I posted above. No doubt the NFL.Maybe the cities will get some back to pay for the stick n ball stadiums that the taxpayers are paying for.
The NBA has stated it seeks an “integrity fee” of 1 percent of the amount wagered on any of its events. Other leagues also are expected to seek such payment.

'Allowing'? Anybody can express an opinion, whether it's Harvick offering opinions on NASCAR, or someone else offering opinions on Harvick. There's no 'allowing' involved. I recall many people here 'telling' Harvick how to run his business, although many opinions were about posters being upset when he closed his trucking operation (as was I).

'Allowing'. Sheesh.
 
Can't wait until a guy wins, fails tech, and an official is accused of impropriety. Oh hell, yes, that's all NASCAR needs.

Ol' Kevy was pretty quiet about the 42 issue wasn't he? Would have expected him to spew like Rodney did after he got busted? Hell, if Kevy is going to go all PC on us, let's get Delana on the show. She will let 'er rip!

Sheesh, how about a quick trip down memory lane since Aug of last year...

1) Harvick spews forth his views on Phoenix and Sperber. He seemed to have gotten quiet when Sperber stated, “You could always do more in anything. I would welcome the support of Tony and Kevin if they wanted to get involved and roll up their sleeves and work on building some events that could attract and support more grassroots racing. That would be a fantastic opportunity that I would jump at.

“If they are serious about that they know how to get a hold of me. They have an open invitation to work with us to put the thing together. The good news is, in November, I’ll have a facility that will be a showcase for all sorts of events and attractive to growing new drivers and fans.”

2) Harvick spewing forth “Earnhardt stunting the growth of NASCAR”. Pssssst, have you seen the ratings during your 5 wins this year, Kevin? :p Based upon them, maybe Kevin should just drive his car and stop expressing his views. He certainly isn’t driving the ratings. I believe his point was that Michael and Lebron won and that caused their sport to grow. Kevin is winning and NASCAR is contracting. Hmmm:D

I dunno, does anyone remember that? Does anyone remember anyone trying? Does anyone remember him getting upset about it? Does anyone remember him having to 'allow' it?

Would it make any difference if someone other than Harvick suggested NASCAR share gambling revenue with the teams? I maintain the position that NASCAR (and other sports sanctioning bodies) shouldn't be receiving gambling revenue in the first place, that it will inevitably lead to corruption.
 
My post pointed out the following -

1) Harvick seems to like telling others how they should spend their money.
2) Harvick likes to share his opinion.

I believe that everyone has opinions. My opinion is that maybe Kevin shouldn't be so quick to voice his, and realize he lives in a glass house. The guy is trying way too hard to be the unofficial spokesperson for the sport. Maybe he looks at it as his entry into the broadcast booth and will be his ****ck when he’s there fulltime. I hope not. It is tiring and he comes off as egotistical, entitled (singing the blues on a private jet is a prime example of that), and not thinking through the issues he has attempted to share his opinion on (his comments on Dale and on Phoenix).

On his point about gambling revenue - maybe he should hold a press conference in Las Vegas when NASCAR races there again. I'm sure he'll have no issue letting the casinos know they should be handing over money to NASCAR and the teams that is generated via sports betting and getting a favorable response from them. :rolleyes:

BTW, I was wrong in my previous post. Kevin’s “wonder season” is driving the ratings. It’s driving them right into the ground.
