One race where Steve Park finishes the race without wrecking, that's all I ask. He's gotta stop doing this, I don't know if I can stand watching this for another whole season next year.

I don't think Pennzoil can stand it either. Your not the only one, it really is a shame. I still think Kenny Wallace should have been in the car longer. Steve Park and Dale Jr. seem to be in the same boat.

I beat you to it RPM in the other msg about Steve! So haha

Well if you have noticed a lot of ppl have been doing the inside slidey up thing today...

Right, SelesFreak...

Back to Steve Park...

Why was Steve Park mad at Sterling Marlin? Park spun out on his own.

Park thnks Sterling didn't give him enough room. Park just lost it.

They said Park thought that Marlin forced him down or something...from the video it didn't look like it. RPM, if you notice the videos a bunch of people that have been on the inside of another car have lost it and slipped up.

Yeah he just doesn't seem right when hes being interviewed...

A co-worker of mine gets his hair cut at the same place as Kenny Wallace. He heard that, as recently as May, Steve still couldn't tie his own shoes. I'm not sure if he's worked through that problem, but you have to wonder. I'd hate to see him not drive, but piloting 3400 lbs of steel at 180 mph is pretty dangerous...imo.

Hey, I can't tie my shoes but, it's not because of my head injury. I'm just fatter than Spencer. Wonder who ties Spencers shoes for him. Maybe we could tie each others.

I don't tye my shoes because I don't have and feet to put them on. I wonder if Steve Park-it keeps his job because he knows where the bodys are burried at DEI. Maybe Kenny should have feed him some Stacker-2...................

Wow.....that is unusual......

Is Stacker 2 also a truth serum?

God knows I love the kid but scares the jeebers out of me that he is still racing.

What do you mean you don't have feet, Tiny? And what bodies? Or should I leave well enough alone?

Park will be Ok! Just give him time to fully recover from his head injury!

Yes and during that time he shouldn't be racing and putting himself and others at risk.

He'll recover...when he does talk he scares me and makes me think, uhm he's racing when he sounds like this?

Sorry to let in on this but brain cells never replace themselves. Once a brain cell dies, it's done.

Unfortunately, I think Park is only running on a few brain cells these days.

It really stinks for Park, though. What else is he supposed to do with his life? His racing career is just about ruined, once he loses that it's going to be hard for him to do anything else with that brain injury. It is a tough, tough situation, but that doesn't mean he belongs in a car. And why is he the one being allowed to make that decision?

Maybe they should just examine all drivers now, to be sure they can all race

Yeah, but then drivers like Robby Gordon wouldn't be allowed to race, and then what fun would our sport be? A lot safer, but where's the fear factor?

I like the driver examination deal...they should have that in any sport where you get banged in the head too much until you get so injured you can't do anything like more like Ali for example.

As Dallenbach explained yesterday the other series (CART & IRL) as well as the NFL have stringent policies regarding head injuries and why hasn't NASCAR adopted same.

Excellant question.

And of course to answer someone's question Steve has been released by the Doctors. And as he has explained ad nauseum, speech pattern is the last thing to recover fully.

Does NASCAR need a better policy? Yes. Time to make some changes to the sport and bring it into the current century.

Medical personnel should travel with the NASCAR to all the races (as do the officials) so that the drivers know them (note Johnny B brushing them off angrily this week end) and they know the drivers. There should be baseline CAT scans and medical records readily available every week to the same Doctor.

Oh well logic is not always the way to go.

The way Wally Dallenbach was talking about it, I'm surprised we don't have that sort of system in place.

im glad they are going to implement this new system.....but they also need to make a change to the point system....let the drivers have 3 or of their worst races dropped from the championship standings so we dont have to many drivers driving hurt.
