Now that the 2009 season is over, let's discuss some of the surprises and disappointments of the season.
Surprises:
Mark Martin, stay in the title contention as long as he did. I expected him to make the Chase, but I thought that would be it for him. If not for the Talladega wreck, we might have seen a different outcome today.
Joey Logano, considering his start. Many people said he had no business being in a Cup car. He ran quite well once they started going to tracks the second time.
Juan Pablo Montoya, for his late season run and strong run in the early stages Chase. It seemed as if he came from nowhere to put himself into the Chase and was a force the first few weeks.
David Reuitimann for his consistancy and almost making the Chase.
Disappointments:
Carl Edwards for not winning a race all year. Maybe he needs to look at cutting back on NNS races.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. for such an awful season.
RCR for not being in contention for anything until Childress made the right changes at season's end and them cutting the front clips off all their new cars.
