Heard that fans were swept form the garage once the race started last night. About dern time is all I've got to say. The boys got work to do.

According to Speed News Jim Hunter and NASCAR are going to be "rethinking their stance on fans in the garage area".

Sad how the lust for more $$$ ruins good things. Your right those guy's are working in there and then the hordes of freaks run over em. Just imagine they sold tickets to were you or I worked. It might get nasty...;)

The way Nazareth used to do it, you were allowed in the garage area during morning activities when they were setting up their cars, but the minute they started practice and race activities, fans had to be out of there. But even then they had problems with fans swarming teams and drivers, so now we're not allowed in there any more. It just takes a few obnoxious fans to ruin it for everyone. If they have to keep out fans b/c there are fans that will not leave drivers or teams alone, then that's what needs to be done.

Saw that deal mentioned on Jayski's site, but I'm not sure what they really did.

If you watched when the TV cameras were showing Jeff driving back to his garage so the crew could work on the engine, there was a very large crowd of folks blocking the entrance to his stall. They definitely were not crew members or officials, whether it was media or fans I don't know. Jeff's crewman had to vigorously indicate to these people that they should move their arses to another spot!:)

If they don't do something about the hoards of fans in the garage, someone could get hurt. Most people do not pay attention to what is going on. It's a wonder someone hasn't been run over yet.

I thought Bobby Hamilton did hit somebody a few years ago.

they need to clear pit road also. For the gas runner to get to the pumps is one big joke. those people don't move out of the way.

I did that many times for the 75 team. I would aim for there toes every time I had a chance!

& when a team has to work on a wrecked car & have to move the crash cart & toolbox those fans just stand there in the way affraid that they will lose there stop.

na$car needs to make room for the teams to do there jobs & the drivers to get there act together after problems on the track.

I believe that no one should be allowed in the garage or around pit road during the race. There should be set times when it's allowed and that's it. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. These people are trying to do their jobs to entertain us and they shouldn't be hampered by some fan trying to get a better look.
