ok...I have heard and read that southern people love sweet tea and not unsweet tea (no sugar)

ok..DE said that he doesn't like sweet tea.......and he is a southerner...so is it true do southerner's like sweet tea, do you all like it.........I can't drink tea without sugar........:)

and this coming from a former alabama/florida girl too....:)
me........I love my sweet tea.......:D

Let's put it this way. Down here, when you're in a restaurant and you ask for tea, you will get sweeten tea. If you don't want it sweet, you have to ask for "unsweeten tea". I've gotten to where, "when in Rome..." :)

I live up north and Imust have sugar in my tea!! Its a Must.

Grits with eggs over easy..........otherwise hash browns!!

Iced tea sweet, but with a little lemon.
Hot tea, no sweetner, just a dab of milk.

One thing I love about Waffle House is that you can get both grits (I love cheese grits) and hash browns (scattered and smothered please).

I drink my iced tea with sugar and lemon and my hot tea with just lemon.

Grits:bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

Hash browns with onions, fried very crisp.:D

Water...or some hot chocolet...or some root beer or cream soda.

Sweet Tea is outstanding. You can't get it up here. The big difference is up here you get it unsweetened, then you add the sugar and it doesn't dissolve because the tea is already cold. With real sweet tea the sugar is added while it is still warm. It indeed makes a huge difference.

4X, may I suggest putting some of the unsweetened tea in a microwave safe mug, nuke for about 45 seconds, add xtra fine sugar to make it REALLY sweet. Then add to the cold tea. Mix well and taste. If you want it sweeter repeat the above. I hope this helps, PURRRRR

I make sun tea at home and I do indeed add sugar before I make it cold. The problem is in restaurants, you get the unsweetened crap and it is too late to save it.

Then try ordering a mug of hot tea, add sugar to taste. Also order a go cup of Ice, wait till the tea cools a little and pour it into the ice.

I like Iced Coffee and they don't serve it in the south. So that's how I make my Iced coffee at work or in restaurants. I like my coffee unsweetened, with half and half, and Decaf. Regular coffee tears up my tummy and I don't drink cola either for the same reason.

gotta be cold and unsweetened.. and i love grits:D can't get enough of 'em

Sweet tea most definitely.

Grits --- love them with lots of butter. Also put bacon bits in mine. yum

Leftover grits? No problem. Put them in the fridge. Next day, slice them, roll the slices in a little flour, and fry them in hot oil. Add some cane syrup and you have goooooood eating. :)

Sweet tea, about a gallon a day.
Grits, ain't no reason to even get out of bed if you can't start the day off with a good serving of grits.

If they don't serve sweet tea, but offer unsweet with packs of sugar, I just say "Dr. Pepper please". I will not drink unsweet tea.

moonshine opps I mean sweet tea like bojangles or if you live near raleigh Barbque lodge sweet tea is the best
