It's Paula not Paul, aren't you being a little sexest here? Though I have never watched her show but is this a cooking show or a poltical one?
 
C'mon, ain't one of those people gonna boycott the food network. Or anything with the word "food" in it for that matter. :D
 
I wonder how many gay people will boycott/leave the state of Indiana. A player for the Pacers said a gay slur during a conference a couple of weeks ago...

Oh, they apologized and it was forgiven?
 
Sad to say but she did apologize regretfully , but for some there is no forgiving nature. Guess they feel they are too perfect.
 
I never cared for her much myself. Her nasally voice and what seems like a slightly forced accent are just too much for me. Oh, and her cooking is beyond unhealthy.

That being said, I understand both sides of the situation, but I think an appology seems like it should be enough. It seems like an extreme overreaction on the part of The Food Network.
 
I am glad they are defending her, and f#ck the Food Network for caving into their sponsors. This is what is wrong with this country. Nobody gives a **** about anyone. Lets just bitch bitch bitch about people and their faults. Excuse me to everyone for being perfect!! If you don't like Paula Deen then don't watch her show, but don't stop or condemn anyone else from watching either. The Food Network should have let her apologize and then stuck with the show. Let the people decide to keep her or not. If her ratings drop then drop her show, if they stay the same or get better then I guess the american public agrees or forgave her. "Oh no Paula Deen said something stupid, better fire her before anyone can make up their mind if they don't like her or not." This is why people don't have freedom of speech. I get the free market aspect of it, but if you don't let the free market play out then how can you justify firing someone over it.
 
Should she have said, "I am going to have an antebellum reception and to make it seem authentic I am going to have older white men dressed as waiters of the period with blackface on to look like black men", that would have really burnt some asses.

The descriptive word, photo, was specifically mentioned in the thread title in order to distract comments away from racial discussion and focus on some of those who suffer ill effects of Paula Deens' style cooking.
As the old adage goes, a photo (the target word is photo) is worth a thousand words.

Gee, I never paid any attention to the race of those in line in front of Paula Deens' Restaurant. Guess you are more attuned to things like that than I am.

Folks, you gotta know that the leftist in this country/forum never forget or forgive...unless (you make up your mind on this). I'm sure that the originator of this thread never in anyone's mind said a pejorative in any way. Of course, he doesn't consider using anything he considers a pejorative towards a conservative. For that matter, conservatives are PEJORATIVES. I wonder why Paula Deen is being so defended. Oh, prolly from GZ supporters. Oops, sorry bout that.
