In the a$$!Night before last,I logged off here as normal.Yesterday morning---after about three hours sleep in the last 48 hours,I attempted to log back on.

Well......nope.

'program to big for memory'........(?)Refering to my compuserve isp...

So I try about every other program I have, from realplayer to weatherbug....guess what:

Not a damn thing would load!

So what to do,right?Sytem restore,right?Uh---no.

'program to big for memory'......

So...time to call HP right?

An internal part must have failed with your comp...contact your local repair guy....

Nope.Nothing wrong with the hardware.

So,Mr.Don't know @#$% about computers.....maybe you are infected...run a virus check(DUH).

Ok.

Comes to find out my computer has more viruses than a Panamanian prostitute...Jeefo?Parite?Trojan this and that?

Had to re-install my isp from scratch just to get online. Now what?Anyone at all got any ideas on this?I realize the info I gave is scetchy...but I expect to be booted again at any moment.

Got a virus check running again now....it has already found 85 infected objects....can I delete all this infected stuff and re-install it or what? And where did all this stuff come from and how the hell did it screw my whole sytem up so fast?

Damn what a bummer.

Any help/advise at all would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert by all means but I think you have to delete all those virus infected files that is if they cant be cleaned by the virus checker. DO NOT RUN SYSTEM RESTORE, because that's usually where the virus attacks first and if the PC is restored then the virus spreads even further. If your computer manages to destroy the virus, then download all the latest updates for your computer.

I think the best course of action would be to reformat and reinstall your hard-drive, you lose all the files you have on there since you bought your computer, but that's the best solution I have. If you can back up some of your important files via CD or Floppy Disk then re-installing the thing would be less of a hassle. Afterwards, make sure you download all the latest updates from Microsoft

Happy:I did delete them all---and my windowsXP with them!Had to do exactly as you said and re-install from scratch.Even now,my sound card and monitor resolution isnt working properly.Still have a few bugs to work out...

And Dee:Yep---back in the saddle again!YEEEE----HAWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to computers. Anything I wnat to do to this one I have to get Sopk4 to do it. If I tried I would start a nuclear war.
