going to Talladega for the first time in Oct. :D need to order seat ..any ideas on location of best seat in the place ...thanks

Tower seats in the Tri oval is the best. Buy me a ticket, and I will show you.

If you ask me, anywhere you can see some race action is a great seat at Talladega but if I had to choose i'd pick the end of the frontstretch just past the start finish line probably two or three rows up.

I agree with the folks above, higher is better. Also, get to the track by six in the morning and you will drive right in and get relatively close parking to the track.

The only place at the track to get the Giant roasted Turkey Leg(my race track fav) is underneath the tri-oval tower. So that is where I prefer to sit!

Miller Lite and Giant Roasted Turkey Leg, Coke and boiled peanuts, and a funnel cake for dessert...mm mm good!

I'm coming down from NY wearing my Davy Allison jacket { cant do anything about my NY plates } Tri-Oval Towers $165 2 day ticket... looking to go 2nd level I guess ...also looking for hotel somewhere in the area

Look to stay in Anniston or Pell City. Those areas are real close to the track and have hotels and eat em up joints. Hwy 280 area South of Birminghmam you can find plenty of food, lodging and nightlife. That area with traffic is about 1 to 1.5 hours away.

+1 We stayed in Birmigham the last time down and it is an easy drive.

You are in for the time of your life. The last time I went I went with three of my closest friends. I nust have taken a thousand pictures. :beerbang:

man I can't wait .. been crazy about NASCAR since seeing pics of the 1st Daytona race in '59 ( I was 8 )...living in NY state we got very few picture/info of grand national racing when I was a kid....only when a car went over a guard rail or something like that ..always felt you guys down there are so lucky...been to the northern tracks but no races in the south ...my daughter got married last year and is moving to AL. this summer so I said I'll visit you in Oct. ......

..she said is there a race..

The higher the better and closer to a turn.

DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO ............

But do you want me to be brutality honest? I have been to Taladega for the last 6 years but Gave my tickets up last season for Atlanta ticks. Not because of the economy or distance. But because it got boring. Its more of a freight train instead of a race. Maybe with the new rules and restricter plates it might be more enjoyable.

yeah ..the race with follow the leader can be a little long/boring especially on TV ..but to be there first time I think will be great..(noise / smell.) seeing NASCAR at Watkins Glen first couple of times was really great ...but I wouldn't go for free today ..guess Atlanta will be next year ..with a side trip up to Dawsonville

Talladega is a great track and you'll have a great time. It looks like you're looking to stay at a hotel/motel somewhere but I guarantee you will have a better time if you camp there. IMO the racing is some of the best. I don't care what anyone says. As far as the so called 'follow the leader' type racing..... Even last November's race produced 25 different leaders and 50+ lead changes. Enjoy the race!
