I wonder if Nate read my post about this idea in the Talladega Pre-Race Thread? ;) And damn, I didn't even get credit for it. :(

Edit..... Disregard. I suggested it replace Homestead and not the regular season finale.

    Carry on.....

The regular season finale reads fine too me. Heck, why not? This system is so convoluted. There isn't much that could be done to it to further diminish the overall means of crowning our seasons champion anyway.

The 12 or so "locked-in" drivers would have tea-time at the back while the rest of the field in front plays demo derby for 4 hours.

I feel like that'd be the harsh reality but I'd be willing to try it.

I'd hope that those 12 or so "locked-in" drivers would have learned a thing or three from Truex Jr as to just how important those 'Stage Points' are and in turn, battle for the win.

Regular season finale. Locked in. Anything to lose? It might be better off, really. Throw caution to the wind. If anything I think being part of a three-race round is detrimental to Talladega. Too much at risk, unless you're someone not expected to advance/well below the cut line.

I would not mind seeing it one time, but not regularly.

Ready for a rotation of final race venues though. Like the Superbowl does.

No thank you. And It'll never happen. ISC loves it right where it is and so do I. A November 19th race in Chicago, Dover, Loudon, Michigan etc. Okey dokey.

We've got plenty of snow plows (if needed) in the Chicago area.

If you dress in layers (like you're going to a late fall football game) and bring a large thermos of hot coffee "sweetened" with your favorite liqueur, you should be good to go.

Besides, it doesn't really get cold in these parts until January or February. :D

Ford's sponsorship of championship weekend goes through the 2019 season, with an option to extend it to 2024. So, it could be a few years until Homestead loses its distinction of having the last races of the season. And that's provided they don't find another company to take over the sponsorship.

  14. I swear Nascar fans check the barometric pressure and humidity before leaving for the track as they have a teeny tiny comfort zone when it comes to temperature. Woody Hayes would be rolling over in his grave if he knew about it.

Talladega should be the regular season finale, Bristol Night Race should be in the Chase soon.

Championship 4 should rotate between Miami, Fontana (LA), Las Vegas, Phoenix.

I disagree, it belongs in the final 10 races, Its my opinion that the final 10 races should be made up of at least one of every style of track that is ran on in the first 26 races, and a plate track is one of those 26 races as you are well aware of .

Talladega as the regular season finale sounds fine to me. That would be a nice way to end the regular season. All of the most recent fall Richmond races have been boring to me, but that is jmo.

Maybe Richmond could just simply take 'Dega's place in the playoffs. How does that sound?

Hmm, carpet bombing some tracks sounds hella fun. NASCAR might draw in a lot of fans that-a-way. :pbjtime::lol2:

MIS definitely can go, as well as Kentucky. Loudon can certainly go.

Pocono, I would like to see stick around. I personally think that the recent Pocono races have actually been kind of neat. They have produced some interesting winners in recent years. Dale Jr. swept the Pocono races in 2014, MTJ got his lone win of 2015 there, as did KuBu in 2016, and Blaney will very likely become the third straight Pocono spring race winner to have it go down as his only win of the season.

Daytona and Talladega... let's keep them - for a few more years, at least. Then we can take one of Kyle Petty's old suggestions... (I think he was referring to Bristol, but still) ...turn them into big lakes for Pro Bass tournaments. B)

I'd like to bomb the 2nd date of every single track on the schedule. One and done @ each venue. Fill up the rest of the schedule with tracks that can install the safety equipment necessary to hold a date. If those tracks aren't capable of handling the dwindling masses that are attending the races these days then make them television events only. Diversity is interesting. The same ol same ol is the same, and it's old. I like variety. I hear it's the spice of life. Doubt it? Here's proof.....

Ending the restrictor plates would probably be the final nail for the series. It would be the same level of stupidity as Cart taking Indy off the schedule, and thinking they could maintain enough of a following to maintain a series.

All this sports needs is a leader that recognizes a piss poor handling car with slippery tires, eliminating at least half of the 1.5s, and a kick in the ass of the current crop of drivers will fix the sport.

You have enough and they’ll do the job. You just have to put the power tools and heavy machinery away first. Relaxing now with my better half after a long day of DIY projects. Plenty of BL’s on ice and a nice campfire to cook dinner on. Looks like it’s time to fill the cooler again.
  38. To tell you the truth........ I don't think they HAD Bud Light 35 years ago....... I thought Miller Lite was the first one....... and it was several years before Bud came out with one...... might be wrong because I always drink regular Bud Longnecks.......

  39. You may be right about that as I remember Miller Lite seemed like the only one for a while. I think people should drink whatever suits them but none of the light beers ever agreed with me.
