Talledega Fuel Cells

bump drafting

Inside sources say that Fords and Dodges will have smaller fuel cells than the Chevys and Pontiacs. Nascar says the reason for the difference is that the larger restrictor plates on the Chevys and Pontiacs create more fuel consumption and it wouldn't be fair to give the GM products the same size fuel cells. A Spokesman for Ford states "we understand it is only for one race. We've already been notified that the plates and templates at Daytona will all be the same so Nascar will mandate that the Fords and Dodges use 98 Octane fuel while the GM's will use 105 Octane. Hey, Nascar knows where their bread is buttered."

Yep!And during cautions Helton will be shown engaging in a game of pick up sticks with his arse.:p

What sense does that make? Why give one make a larger plate than the other?

Just leave the damn things off and let them race.

They would launch into the air without plates on those two tracks.

Need to take those crappy, out-dated tracks off the circuit altogether.

Why doesn't Helton just give them enough fuel to make it through all the warmup laps, and then when they are ready to drop the green flag force them to come to pit road, so everyone can fill up, change four tires, and we can spread out the field that way. We can have the first lap through pit road!!!!

While that's a good idea, maybe even the best I've heard yet, I don't think it's in NASCAR's best interest to break up those huge packs...people love those races.

I hate them, but those races draw the biggest ratings...the huge wrecks get lots of exposure and the packs give the illusion that it's real tight racing.

Until the "Big One" happens, then it's not such a good race. With all the cars that can make it back on the racetrack being all banged up and holding up traffic.:(

I loved the talladega race last year when Hamilton won it. No "Big One".

Ciggie, be careful what you wish for. That might be Nascar's next step to seperate the packs. My suggestion would be to go for square tires.

Here's hoping this Talladega isn't as ho-hum as the last few follow-the-leader races.

Square tires and UPS trucks for everyone, tell me where I can get ahold of Mr. Helton. I'm sure he's just dying for an idea like this, just as much as he's dying for his next 5 course meal he wants every two hours.

Wait one galldarn second here. Chevy and Pontiac have a bigger plate than Ford and Dodge? They run a richer fuel than Ford or Dodge? But every time someone postulates this exact theory, we are labelled whiners?

Anyone else still wanna tell me the playing field is perfectly level?

Now they get a bigger tank too. Note to self: LOAD THE FANTASY TEAM WITH BOWTIES FOR TALLEDEGA!!!!!!

What a total, complete, thorough, and repulsive crock of fecal matter.

Jr and Waltrip gotta keep that tradition of "winning one for Daddy" alive for the masses somehow...lord knows they can't do it on their own.

I'd like to see what Jr. and Waltrip have if Talladega would stop being a follow-the-leader race.

Go Waltrip!

I'm kind of thinking ol' bump drafting was pulling our leg with that rumor, don't you?

I think so, especially the "bread and butter" part.

But far be it from me to pass up an opportunity to rant about Jr and Waltrip.
