Inside sources say that Fords and Dodges will have smaller fuel cells than the Chevys and Pontiacs. Nascar says the reason for the difference is that the larger restrictor plates on the Chevys and Pontiacs create more fuel consumption and it wouldn't be fair to give the GM products the same size fuel cells. A Spokesman for Ford states "we understand it is only for one race. We've already been notified that the plates and templates at Daytona will all be the same so Nascar will mandate that the Fords and Dodges use 98 Octane fuel while the GM's will use 105 Octane. Hey, Nascar knows where their bread is buttered."
