Talledega this weekend will be my first time going and I was just wondering what time I should arrive at the track. I have gotten my tickets online and the tickets say the gates open at 8 a.m. so what time should I get there?

Any help would be great!
 
get to the track at 7 AM. If it's anythign like TMS when the gates open, it takes about 15 minutes to egt the line processed from the heavy fan backup waiting to get in. Or do like i do and go to the raceday stage, and go in the gates then the whow is over.
 
1st year i went we got there like 30 mins b4 the race, missed dirver intros and the fly by....grrr

the last time i went, we got there around 7am, got autographs (Eddie wood and Robby gordon) then went up to the stands about 1030 or so. (that was 2004)
 
Parking lots open at 5am...I always get to the tracks as soon as the parking is open. Last time I went to Talladega we got there right around 5am. The earlier you get there the better chance that parking attendants will not be on duty, thus giving you greater flexibility on parking. Once they get there, you go where they tell you.

There's a lot to do at Talladega, which in addtion to your usual haulers and stuff, there's a private vendors area and the Hall of fame to look at.

I'll be rolling in at 5am!!! Hopefully the rain will hold off or pass the track by!
 
at TMS there are no parking attendants or parking hours. You can pull in 5 AM friday for the cup race and just live in the back of your SUV for the weekend they wont do anything.
 
That's what I like about Texas, it's easy to get there early and if you need to save a spot or to it's easy as it's pretty much a free-for-all.

But at 'Dega, I have literally seen the parking attendants chase a guy down who ignored their direction and went to park where he wanted...it was pretty damn funny!
 
We always go to Fontana EARLY!!!!! Makes parking much easier. You can get closer to your gate. We take snacks and sodas, so we cah just kick back in comfort till the gates open. LOL
Go early, and have a great time!!!!!!!!!
