Do any of the smaller teams have ties with any of the bigger teams?

I know for a fact that some teams get their engines from bigger teams. I pretty sure they can buy or lease almost anything.

Certainly:

Hall of Fame Racing #96 is pretty much an extension of Gibbs Racing

Haas Automation Racing which fields the #66 and #70 gets help including engines and technical support from Hendrick

Ginn Racing I believe gets assistance from Hendrick too.

What does all of this add up to? Chevy dominance. Outside of engines I do not think Ford Teams do much for each other outside of a little coop between Woods and Roush. Pretty sure the same thing goes for Dodge. Toyota? Well they are supposed to be working together and sharing info as an organization however some of the folks have their egos involved rather then their brains.

Maybe that is what Ford, Dodge and Toyota needs to start doing. Chevy is dominating for that reason. Plus there are like 3x more chevy's out there. The more you got the better chance you got to win.

Ford's biggest problem is they put all their eggs into Roush's basket. When other teams saw how Roush benefited from RYR and RYR got nothing much from the deal, they took noticed and decided to sign with another make. The problem with the Dodge teams is instability among drivers. Except for Kahne, Newman, and Petty, all the other Dodge drivers started driving for their current team this year or last year. Chevy teams has the most stability among drivers and crew chiefs, and have these satellite teams working with them and both ends are getting something out of the deal, unlike the Roush-RYR deal.
