MUSGRAVE HONORED
Ted Musgrave has been selected as the fourth-quarter winner of the National Motorsports Press Association/Pocono Spirit award. The award recognizes character and achievement in the face of adversity as well as sportsmanship and contributions to motorsports. Musgrave, an Evanston, Ill., native who will turn 48 on Thursday, drove an Ultra Motorsports Dodge to three wins and third place in this year's Craftsman Truck Series while being treated for cancer. Other quarterly winners for 2003 included Richard Childress, Bob Latford and Ward Burton. The overall winner of this year's award is scheduled to be announced Jan. 18, 2004, in Charlotte during the NMPA's annual banquet.

Ted deserves some type of Award after getting screwed out of the Truck Series Title!

While I do feel bad that Ted didn't win the Championship, rules are rules and therefore must be followed. Like them or not. Folks were screaming at Nascar to be consistent, and on ONE of the occasions that they were, folks are screaming that Ted got screwed. Make up your minds people!

Edit: I really wish that Brendan hadn't gotten wrecked. He WOULD have won the championship. Then I would have been happier!

Screwed out of the championship?????! I can think of a team that set out to purposely screw someone else out of the championship.....5 teams in the final race? C'mon. As much as Musgrave is a good guy and very admirable for his accomplishments on and off the track, running for a dirty owner who would send out jackmen to drive a truck in Gaughan is one blow against Musgrave that he couldn't overcome...Karma my friends, karma!

I agree 100% & probably the nicest kid, next to Brendan Gaughan, won the Truck Championship.

I remember Richard Childress doing a similar gig a few years ago.

As far as the multiply entries, it isn't cheating. The field is open to any entry that pays the entrance fees, passes inspection and qualifies.

Doubtful Ted Musgrave had the final say in the deal. Most likely thier objective was to hope to finish far enough ahead with the five entries that Ted would win the championship. Unfortunately Gaughan got caught up in a wreck with one of the five entries but that certainly was not in the plan. For either team. At least in my naive' way I would like to believe that 'cause ya gotta have faith.

And "thanks Majestyx", you said it best.
When NASCAR is inconsistent people bitch and when they show consistency, people bitch. Get with the program folks, you can't have it both ways.

Meanwhile, :birthday: to 97Forever. Today is his day !!!!!!!

I remember that RCR deal. Jay Sauter went after Greg Biffle to keep him from winning the championship.

You are beginning to push you luck with me flyboy! Tone down the sarcasm!

I've noticed that an increasingly large number of threads start out good and then wind down into flyboy jumping in and blathering on about god knows what and then everyone else reacting to him...someone said that the best thing to do is ignore him and we never seem to do it. It's obvious that he gets the message but doesn't understand it. I propose that when the thread turns to "flyboy fun time" just ignore it and move on with the conversation. For instance, I really enjoyed the conversation so far in this one, but the last half of the posts have either been flyboy or flyboy related. I don't know what to do, but it takes away from my experience here. IMO.

esorlxaw, you would be referring to a comment that I, myself, made. And I would like to offer my sincere apology to you, and to everyone else for not following my own advice. In this instance, I felt that I needed to say something. Again, I apologize.

Maj,
that's cool, I understand how hard it can be when provoked...also, just call me axl, the name i use is W. Axl Rose backwards. So, instead of the confusing esorlxaw, just use Axl.
