An era in NASCAR history ended.

That was also the last race of the non-Chase era and the last race for Pontiac in NASCAR. It was also Bobby Labonte's last win.

I see Chase Elliott, I guess he was racing back then.

Yeah I got to looking at the uniform and realized that was the Grainger uniform.

Miss Winston cup actually had ankles, knees, and legs and hips. Winston tastes good like a cigarette should....

From my phone I cant tell if the young lady is a Winston girl or not, but vintage Bobby Allison is post worthy.

Gordon is right behind Elliot. Thanks DuPont hat. :p

I really wish this whole tobacco sponsor ban thing had never happened & Winston was still in charge. Winston Cup sounds sooo much better than Sprint cup as well as Miss Winston, The Winston, Winston No Bull 5, Talladega Winston 500. Winston was awesome, flags at all tracks should've been half massed for all of 2004...

Or not.

Spoken like someone living in the past.

I'm good with the cigarette company ban. But have yourself another pack before bedtime.
All he was referring to was the quality of competition and support/foundation for the series.. As well as Winston Drag racing, as a young person but lifelong fan, it's an era I miss. Regardless of tobacco itself.

To be honest, I never, ever associated cigarettes with Winston Cup.
I was very young and naive when I got into NASCAR, but I didn't associate Winston Cup and Winston cigarettes until atleast the early 2000's. The red and white was something traditional for me. Something stable. I for one was very sad to see Nextel replace them with their hack series title name. Atleast Sprint Cup Series has a ring to it..(dammit no pun intended)

Remember it well. Bill Elliott cut a tire out of turn 2 on the last lap leading and limped in 8th I think. It was his last full time season and he left pretty much on top of his game.

As a young fan back then(I was 12) I still miss it having that name, I don't remember it as well as most of you do but I grew up watching racing with my dad so I been a fan since at least 94 or 95(idk to young to remember that) I just know I liked Earnhardt and Gordon both back then(only lasted a few years as a Gordon fan lol) Winston Cup was a cool name I got to admit that.

Winston tastes good as a cigarette should.....been 20 days, cold turkey.
Yeah I never associated the racing to cigarettes

damm I'd kill for one right now....

One of the announcers said "in the Winston cup series" by accident last race. Habit hard to break

I grew up in the 90s watching NASCAR Winston Cup series and I still call it the "Busch series". Presently I've never smoked a cigarette in my life and I hardly drink. Yet I'm addicted to my Sprint iPhone

Same here. I still call the All-Star race The Winston.

Did you catch Dale Jarrett call it the Winston Cup Series during the race broadcast Sunday? lol
