--NASCAR told Winston Cup teams this week that it will cut the allotted number of tests per team from seven to five next season. That means more teams will likely utilize tracks where Cup races are not held for testing, since tests at such facilities don't count against their total.

Yet another blow to the single-car teams. :(

Well, which multi-car team do you think payed NASCAR off to make that announcement.

For an orginization that says they are trying to level the playing field, that is a big blow to the smaller teams.

At the same time it will help save some money for the smaller teams since they now don't have to spend extra money on tires and gas and man power for a two day test.

Yeah, but still, you have an unlimited budget like Rousch against single teams, and you're still out....

Now there is a thought.

Rookies get more tests than the standard. Maybe like 10 for next season.

Would it be worth having a rookie to get the extra tests on WC tracks?

Not a clown in a drivers suit, but could it make a difference in an owners choice if the rookie had fair to middlin skills vs a mid pack veteran?

shut up and drive that thing hard into and out of the turns. Tell me what it's doing, not how to fix it.
