Texas A&M, Franchione agree to multiyear deal

He sold Alabama out. He preached accountability, loyalty, trust, family and academics. I hope he chokes on his new contract.
 
He'll probably choke on gourmet meal...after all...$2.5mill a year...
 
You probably don't understand....Alabama football is a way of life down there. Yeah, we might be a bunch of backward-ass country hicks, but we still know what values are and being true to your word is. Obviously he didn't.
 
I understand...but I also understand that money talks. Especially if the money is on a nice solid lifeboat and you're standing on a sinking ship.
 
Wasn't rally a sinking ship he was on...yeah, they were on probation, but the only losses, other than Auburn, was to two top-5 teams at the time...Oklahoma and Gerogia.

Bottom line, he has no heart. All talk..............
 
If Alabama wasn't on probation, I doubt he leaves. You can't really blame a coach for leaving during probation. Especially with more rumors about Alabama getting even more probation.

My question is what ever happened to the Texas law where you had to post the job for 20 days?
 
To tell you how big the firing of Slocum was --- it was the large headline on the front page of the paper that day.

Here in Texas, football rules. Yuck.

Apparently they had been looking for some time before Slocum was actually fired.
 
Its been rumored for weeks in Alabama that Fran was going to A&M....I know that firing Slocum has been in the works for a while.
