Nov. 6 race at TMS may end under the lights

NASCAR and TMS officials are talking to NBC about a late-afternoon start for the Dickies 500 Nextel Cup race so the event would end under the lights.The race probably would start between 3 and 4 PM. The last third of the event woudl be run in darkness and lead into NBC's prime-time Sunday night lineup. The 334-lap Cup races at TMS take about 31/2 hours.

November is a sweeps monthe for the TV networks. Advertising rates are set during sweeps periods, so the networks televise special programming to try to garner high ratings. NBC scheduled a prime-time ending for the Cup race at Darlington last Nov. 14.

Why yes I am......section PU 429, although I will not be attending the April races this season. Cuss I will be going to Dega this Roctober instead, sold my April tickets to my brother this season, so I have save up some money for both of those fall races.
 
If it doesn't get too cool, that would be a good move. I'm sure NBC looks at the possibility of cutting into the NFL ratings on that day too.
