I'm alive because of an act of Divine Intervention.

Idiot teenager (I forgot school's out) damn near killed me on the highway this morning. Almost wrecking himself and my car didn't phase him either, he continued to drive his little ricer burner thinking he's Kyle Busch or Jimmie Johnson.

Thanks be to god for watching over me today.

When i see somebody trying to fit their car where it aint gonna fit, I like the close the gap a little, if it's not too tight already. If they clip the corner of my bumper, it aint my problem that their car didn't fit where they thought it would and they PIT'd themselves.

Like they say- if you can't see their headlights in your center mirror, something's not gonna work out.

You'd love driving on the freeways here in the Dallas/Ft.Worth, Tx. area.

I stick to Bowen and Park Row. LOL. I only see the nuisance problems around the TCC campus and on the interstates. Thus why I take Bowen. Plus Bowen comes all the way to my house.

He would have 5 or 6 rant threads posted daily.

Lets do this:

Have him start up cooper street from Mansfield starting at 4:30PM, West on 30, 820 from 30 to 35 (crossing rufe snow), north up 35 (across Basswood and Western Center), and have him stop at TMS, and calculate:

the total driving time for those 43 miles
the number of times Andy cusses
the number of times Andy gives somebody the bird
the number of times Andy uses his horn
the number of Dents in Andy's car
the increase per mile of Andy's blood pressure, start to finish

His blood pressure would be so high his head would explode by rufe snow.

L.A. rush hour traffic on the 405 is about as bad as it gets...> http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0931285.html
I quit a job where I was making a lot of money just because of the drive. I lived 28 miles from work and it would take me two hours to get home no matter which alternate route I chose.
we wouldn't wanna throw dear old Andy into something like that, now would we? It's more fun to torture THEN kill, than to just straight kill. LOL

I've driven in a lot of place, Dallas, DC and a lot of other places east of the Mississippi and plenty on the west side as well...not in California though. I know that no matter where you drive, someone will have it worse. But I can say that the most scared I've been was when my uncle was driving me around in Chicago. We took the big "S" curve on Lake Shore Drive at about 45, three or four wide, bumper to bumper. I still haven't gotten the brown streak out of my shorts from that one.

Andy, you may or may not learn this, but if you can learn early, it will help your health. Let the other idiots go, slow down but don't become a moving hazard. If someone wants to tailgate, pull over and let them by. Let someone else get their panties in a wad. Put on some soothing music and enjoy the ride, even if it's bumper to bumper. Its hard, but it can be done and if you have to, start earlier so being in a hurry is not an excuse. As big of a PIA you are here, we all want to see you continue being the board butthole. Slow down and smell the roses. :)

:AHHHH:

That's the funniest Chit I've seen in a while. Complete oxymoron 1 sentence apart.

I drive through DC, VA and other ****ty traffic areas all the time. Typically, 99/100 times, I can stay in one lane, hold the lane I'm in and cruise and I'll be fine... might get cut off or something, but that doesn't usually bother me.

Fact is, where this happened, only reason I got out of it alive was because, by divine intervention, every other car on the road was in the right-most lane (which never happens on 235) and I was able to get out of the dude's way.

Part of me felt like egging him on a little bit when he was stuck in traffic but seeing as the dude was already driving recklessly, he probably would've gotten even more aggressive and killed someone.

There are certain intersections and certain roads that I pray right before I get on because I know, no matter how I drive, there's a decent chance of getting in an accident because of other peoples' impatience/stupidity.

Northern Virginia as a whole is one of those places. I bring a 12 pack of soda, put on Colbie Callait, Vanessa Carlton and Carrie Underwood and give myself two-three times as much time as I need to get there... need a whole hell of a lot of patience to drive anywhere in Northern Virginia.

Used to live on East Park Row back in the early 80's, and Saturday mornings we would go to a restaurant called Grandys (Was up by Six Flags Mall) for hangover breakfast:beerbang: There was a litttle dragstrip called YelloBelly on the outskirts of town,is it still around??

My brother lives just north of Boston and drives into the city for work. Worst days are when the Red Sox play and the drunks, I mean fans, hit the road. Man doesn't have a nerve in his body.

BTW Andy, if you didn't have to change your shorts it couldn't have been that close a call.

Yellobelly is an outlaw track now- not safe enough to sanction, so it's just there for the betting. Alot of crashes get posted on DRR and yellowbullet. I've heard it's like racing on an airstrip....

Forum mall got tore down and replaced with a huge warehouse that is sitting idle with nobody in it.The only thing there on that corner still is Denny's and Jack in the Box and the auto garage beside Denny's.

Tore down the Forum huh?
Saw alot of movies there and spent alot of money in there too.
I'm sure Arlington has changed quite a bit.

Forum really went downhill late 90's.Six Flags Mall is in Bad,Bad shape too.The Parks Mall is pretty busy and has EVERY restaurant you can pretty much think of around it.Cowboy Stadium has changed Arl. alot up around 30 too.

My friend's dad that picked up the truck, used to live in SW arlington. I took him through on diviion then down cooper, and he couldn't BELIEVE how much it had blown up just in 10 years.

Sad times. A great guy from our truck website was killed in the DFW area last week on I-35. He got rear-ended and sandwiched between a deuce and a half and a semi.

Bobby, that accident happened about 5 miles from me. It had the freeway shut down for several hours.

Around here, they're starting to enforce the minimum speed limit... mainly, they believe people driving that slow are generally under the influence of something. It's remarkable to me when I can be in neutral, going up a hill (5 mph under the speed limit and slowing) and still be closing in on the car in front of me like a rocket.

It's tragic. He leaves behind a wife and child.

That's terrible.

Unfortunately, when people get on the road and they're in a hurry, they forget everyone around them is human and has a family. That's why these teenage kids who get on the main roads and "play games" with other motorists piss me off.

That boy the other day, that was just dumb... I mean, he didn't think for one second, "how will my mother react if I flip my car over in the grass". Unfortunately, they watch too much NASCAR and think they're going to walk away from everything.

That was a bad one.You couldn't even tell what kind of truck he was in.Sorry to hear it.

Gene was in the '68 ford truck. My hope is that he never felt a thing. May God rest his soul and comfort his loved ones.

wow...such a shame....for the life, and for such a nice truck. Sure hope the guy in the service truck gets some weight, because that just visually is a TON of force...70 mph vs standstill...
