Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for making me feel sooo welcome. My husband got me interested because he plays guitar, both Blues and Rock and he has so much fun in his board.
I retired three years ago, I was a P.R. person for a group of doctors who own several clinics. We specialize in Workers Comp. That was my field before. I was with Dole Fresh.
I have to tell you that I have become a little unhappy with some of the decisions that Nascar has made this year. It is getting like any very large organization. I take issue with the Points removal for language. I am a parent of a grown son, he is almost 30. I think that certain words should not be classified as foul language. I feel that **** is one of them. I don't mind the driver being fined, fine him a larger amoun, but please don't take his points away. I know you realize I am refering to Jr. and his 25 points. I think Nascar needs to update itself. I hear kids in Middle school today using language I would never use myself. I can;t beliver it is that much different in other parts of the country.

I think it's not so much that NASCAR's getting big, as trying to please everyone. IMHO, that's a cancer that's gonna destroy what generations of good people worked hard to build : Society.
 
Actually Penny I agree with you, but don't agree, if that makes any sense. :D

I think because NASCAR had set a precident earlier this year and gave the same penalty to 2 other drivers they didn't have a choice but to impose that penalty.

I would hope during the off season they will review this penalty and change it for next year.
 
Penny, I certainly am NO Puritan; but............(LOL and you knew there was a but coming, I bet.) There is no place in my mind that says that potty mouth is an acceptable way of speech. NASCAR is (supposedly) a "family" type arena, and as such, I feel should be kept free from gutter English. NASCAR also demonstrates a certain moral standard, of ethics. Demonstrating a lot of this by being the only spectator sport that still recognizes God and gives the Invocation before each race. I applaud NASCAR for presenting the National Anthem as well before each race or event. Sooooooooooooooo, to cut to the chase, I believe, whatever means they feel necessary are required to "clean-up" the aired language is just.

I beleive NASCAR has more than made their point on the language issue. Drivers will surely watch what they say from now on. B)
 
Gotta agree nascarup.......time to move on. Jr has his bed........I think he's laying in it now!!

But, heck, he's only 101 points out.....without the points deduction he would still be 76 points out. That's second instead of third.......but, really that is the first loser!! :D It ain't over yet, though!! :cheers:
