And he was like a sherrif or something.

Are they not required to take them off?

Taking your hat off is something that just doesn't happen anymore!

Get Over It!

:p :p :p :p :p

If he was in uniform, he should salute or stand at attention, unless he was part of a security detail and is providing security for something in the immediate area. I didn't see it, so I really don't know what he was doing.

He was in a brown uniform so I was guessing he was a sherrif.

He had his hat on and was saluting.

Ok, cool...he did the correct thing.

But it is amazing to see how many people don't pay respect during the National Anthem.

Yeah, I wasn't sure...just wanted to check.

When I'm near someone that isn't paying proper respect I'm sure to scream and cheer extra loud into their ears and be a total pain the rest of the race/concert/etc

If people don't respect each other what's the sense in a flag to begin with?

there is some many conflicts in this it does hold true any more.

Yes, he was in uniform, and you don't see the Armed forces color guard take their dress caps off either.

It still bothers me tho that some won't honor our great country with silence, salutes, stand tall, etc. during OUR song! Dang, I stood up, put hand over heart, and even sang along!

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I never understood the point of singing/playing the National Anthem before sporting events anyway. Whoever performs it usually butchers it, half the crowd doesn't pay attention, and people cheer over the last few words (that is, when the flyover jets don't drown everything out). I think it's better to just leave that song for more appropriate occasions.

I missed it to.

when i was at the concert in the summer the guy in front me did not take his hat off. i allmost took it off for him. but i did not.

LMAO, I can't see that ever happening (eyeroll) esp now that you're not smoking.... Truth be told, I'm the exact same way. I tend to do my best to make someone miserable in a crowd if they've pissed me off in some way.

I hate it when people are even talking during these ceremonies. I know I haven't been around long but I have read and talked to people that the flag meant everything to them. People just take it for granted. The time will come though that they will come to respect it.
